Applications are: CLOSED Fill out the following form and post the application below. Please post your applications as comments to this post, rather than as a link to another page. By applying to this game, you are saying that you have read all of the information pages, and you agree with the rules as they have been presented. PLAYER INFORMATION Name: The name you want to go by Age: You must be over 16 to play in this game. Contact: Some way of contacting you. AIM, plurk, a journal to PM, an email, etc. Current characters: Characters you currently have in this game. CHARACTER INFORMATION True name: The character's name in canon Given name: The name they are given in-game. Be sure to explain the significance behind the given name, as well as how it is connected to the cocoon dream. Canon: The name of their canon Canonpoint: The point at which you are apping them from, as well as how they died at that moment. History: A link will suffice, but be sure to write it out if there is no history available elsewhere. Personality: This part should consist of two clear sections: their personality in canon, and how they will act within the game. If there are any differences between the two, be sure to explain why that is. This is one of the sections we will be judging heavily, so do not skimp here. Powers: List any powers they have. Only powers that are listed here can be regained via memories. Memory bank: This section should be linked to a memory bank in your character's journal. At this point, you do not need to have all of your memories fully written out; a short title or summary of each one (except for the two used as samples) will be enough. Any memories that are headcanon must be labeled as such. There is no upper limit on the number of memories you may have in the memory bank, but the minimum is 20. Job: The job you would like your character to start out with. Please refer to the job board to see what jobs are currently available. If the job you are requesting is a limited-spot job, please be sure to list two backups, in case your first choice is filled. Dream: Describe your character's cocoon dream. This should relate to their trial in some way, and serve as a clue to what they need to do to complete their trial. This dream will be their defining moment until they begin to regain memories, so put plenty of details into it. Trial: What is the trial your character will be facing? What regret do they have, unfinished business they have to fulfill, or character flaw they need to overcome? This should be personal to themselves, and a trial that can be completed within the game. Additionally, describe your general idea for what you will have your character do to complete that trial. And, if you want to have them struggle at completing their trial, describe the difficulties they will have. You do not have to stick with this plan completely, but ideally you should be using it as a guide for what you will be doing with your character, so we want to see some thought put into it. We will be judging this section heavily, so do not skimp on details. SAMPLES Memories: Pick two of the memories from your memory bank and write them out completely. Each memory should have a specific point to it (to remind your character of a specific skill they have, or an important detail of their previous life that will help them with their trial), but should also be fragmented and difficult to understand without some thought put into it. Also, no names or clear faces should be present within the memories. For example your character can remember that they are a parent, but they cannot remember what their kids look like, or what their names are. These memories should also be listed in your memory bank, for use later when your character begins to regain memories. RP sample: Pick one of the following: 1: link at least 30 comments from the test drive. This can be over more than one thread. 2: Write out a log starter as if your character has been present in the game for over a month. You can use prompts from the test drive, or come up with ideas on your own. |

Yosuke Hanamura | Persona 4 | Reserved
Name: Jess
Age: Over 18

CHARACTER INFORMATION
True name: Yosuke Hanamura
Given name: "Hitori" Meaning alone, a single person. It's basically a direct reflection of his dream, but also a hint to his trial- finding his self worth and purpose outside what others think and see him as. To no longer need the approval of the group to the point of acting badly to get it. And to come to terms with what he and his group did to an innocent man due to grief, anger, and groupthink.
Canon: Persona 4
Canonpoint: Post second Bad End. In more detail- After the IT murders Namatame and Yu goes home. The town is covered in fog and eventually it and everyone in it will be devoured by the Shadows. This is the point Yosuke is killed alongside everyone else.
History: Here
Personality: Yosuke is someone made up of his flaws. He’s whiny, rude, often unintentionally hurtful and horribly insecure. He all the worst parts of your high school life in one awkward package. Someone that tries so hard to be cool and just falls on his face, then laughs it off to hide his embarrassment and budding tears. A kid convinced that few if anyone would wanna be around him if he wasn’t so good at pretending to be upbeat and easy going all the time. Who unthinkingly hurts and mocks others to hide his own desperate need to belong. And who desperately searches for something or someone to make him feel ’special’ or ’important’ to give his life some meaning beyond the dull existence of some normal teenage loser.
Still, because of his flaws he is a young man filled with potential. He might be an asshole sometimes, but he’s the one that will always have your back. He might be kinda egocentric- except when he reaches out to those in need and shares his own embarrassing experiences to help them overcome their own. He’s lonely as all hell… except now he has friends, and uses their support to bolster his own self weakness. As long as he has that he can do anything, he knows. But more then anyone in his group he is the easiest to knock back down with crippling doubt. But also the fastest to get back up, dust himself off and charge forward with a smart ass comment. He’s loyal, kind, clever and brave…. If one can stand him long enough to see it. He has the heart of a hero and the self doubt of the buttmoneky in the blackest kind of comedy. But deep down he is an innately good person even if he can sometimes act badly or make evil choices without realizing it if he’s CONVINCED himself he’s right. He’s faced his inner demons in the form of a Shadow, and if his life had continued on course, through his relationships he would have realized he doesn't HAVE to try and be someone important. By just existing he is already special to someone.
But thanks to his death, and the choices of himself and his group, that never happened. His social link was never finished, his best friend was gone, and he was eventually devoured by the part of himself he once thought he had tamed.
During his second life he won't be much different. But without a goal and purpose like he had in canon his flightiness and desire to fill his loneliness with constant stimulation will return to what it was before he meet Yu. He no longer remembers the lesson his Shadow taught him, and will need to re-confront his thirst for recognition. But his basic personality will be almost entirely unchanged... it will take some growth for him to regain his more thoughtful side, but it's still there under the surface. Though in some ways a lot of his baggage will also be lost with his memories. He's no longer a pariah due to his family. He no longer lost someone he cared about so much (even if she wasn't at all attached to him) and the guilt from failing to solve the case is all missing. At least until he remembers those things, but having different cr and development before that point... who knows how things could turn out this time?
Powers: Yosuke's only power is that of his Persona, Jiraiya. While in the TV world he can do such things as:
1) Summon wind attacks that can hit a single or multiple foes
2) Heal a single ally
3) Use stat buffs that can boost his or others speed
4) Use his Persona to physically strike his foes.
But Jiraiya can not be used outside the TV or other altered realities- so it'd be up to the mods if he could be regained. Other then his Persona he is very graceful and able to dodge around his foes and is pretty skilled with kunai or similarly sized knives.
Memory bank: I will probably add WAY more then 20 of these over time since so many important things characterwise happen in canon, but here's the first 20 I could think of
Job: Resturant: Server/Host
Factory: Janitor
Dream: Yosuke dream starts rather comfortably. In a crowd. Not just a crowd, but people he knows. He can't pick out any features of course, but he innately knows that he recognizes these people mulling about. It's good, because with all these people here he's safe from
-something. He can't say what it is he needs protecting from, but he can SENSE it just on the edge of the group. Slithering around, watching him for the moment he's alone. But before long the crowd starts to scatter. Not running- they don't see the thing. But they seem to avoid him after awhile. And it's clearly HIM- as he follows after they leave faster. Some even laugh
(the girl with the curly hair especially so)
or look annoyed. In the end there's only one person left, who holds his hand out to him... only to push him right into the thing stalking him
(you have to accept it)
which gathers him up in lanky inhuman arms. All he can see is black and yellow eyes and a fluttering red gash. Yet somehow this monster is familiar to him. More so then any friend or brother. It grins down at him with too white teeth that open wider and wider to devour him, wind whipping around them both, lashing at it as he struggles.
And wakes up.
Trial: Yosuke's trial is two fold, though the two sides fold into each other. The first, most obvious being coming to terms with the crime he instigated. Murder of an innocent man. Yu made the final choice, but it was due to Yosuke convincing him of it and arguing him into the ground. He lead the team into denying searching for the truth and instead giving into their grief and taking it out on a convenient scapegoat instead. Individually they never would have done such a thing, but as a mob lead by Yosuke's rage they were able to do something horrible.
The second half is completing and expanding his incomplete social link. His entire link is him coming to terms with Saki's death, but also realizing that he doesn't have to fight so hard to be special and important to be valued. As he says during it 'Just being born, living your life... Before you know it, you're already special to someone.' or he would have...if Yu had completed his social link before December. So when he dies he not only feels like a failure and abandoned, but useless. He wasn't the Hero this story needed. THAT person left them, and with only Yosuke to depend on, of COURSE everything fell apart.
So Yosuke's trial will be to realize his own self worth outside how others see him. His name, Hitori, while seeming to mock him losing his friends at first, instead is a badge of hope- that one day he will be able to stand on his own. To affect his own fate instead of depending on others to do it for him, and becoming strong enough to not give into his impulses and desire to find an easy out and instead be a pillar of SUPPORT for others instead of a weakness.
The actions that will lead into his trial will be things like taking incentive to help others without being told to do so, mentoring newcomers (like he tried to do for Yu once upon a time) and showing leadership qualities or supporting a group in a healthy way. But basically anything that builds his self worth without depending on others SAYING he's doing right will help. He might have some issues once he remembers what he and his friends did to Namatame, and depending on his cr and growth by that point he might backpedal a lot, or even slip into being Sinbound. But with positive cr and growth that can be resisted.
SAMPLES
Memories:
Memory 1 (Saki's Death Announcement)
He was in a school.
He had no idea how he KNEW this, considering the space looked nothing like the human school he knew at all. For one thing there was WAY too many people, and most of them looked almost too old. There were certainly no outright children here. But in his memory it was a School, it was HIS school. Everyone was talking, but about what he couldn't quite figure out, as if they were chattering in a language he didn't really know. It was close, but just out of his grasp. So instead of trying to listen he let his gaze fall on the girl in front of him- he could tell they were kinda pretty, but any details fuzzed and blurred. All he could pick out where colors. Green Girl. There was usually a Red Girl too, but she was missing
A voice whispered to him.
And he turned, spoting a boy he assumes is his own age, but he's just a blur of gray to counter the colorful girls. Later, when he recalled the memory, that boy would send a spike of terror to his guts- it was the same one that pushed him in his dream. But all memory-him feels is a distant interest, much more focused on this feeling of concern for something else entirely. His memory self is worried about something. It's not just the Red Girl
(who there hell is that? There's no one in red here)
that's missing, and he has a deep feeling of dread over that, while in turn telling himself that it's silly. She must have somehting going on today. It's fine.
Everyone quieted, and a man. An Adult. Walked across the elevated platform in front of him. Not just an Adult but Old. He spoke, and while he still couldn't quite understand the details, the message was clear.
She's dead.
(who's dead?)
Who didn't matter. What mattered was the sudden crushing shock, like his belly had just dropped down to his shoes. His entire body shuddered and trembled in gorwing horror. Dead. Deaddeadead that made no sense he just SAW her
(WHO, who did he see?!)
on the T-
T something. That wasn't important. Green Girl and Gray Boy are there, talking to him softly. But he could barely hear them. All he could hear was the blood rushing in his ears and the Old Adults' words in his head, spinning and spinning until they turned his brain to utter mush with their meaningless mantra.
Passed away. Like something small and unimportant on the wind. Gone.
Memory 2 (Using Jiraiya for the first time/ Power regain)
What the hell was a Castle? Apparently it was a really big house. A really REALLY big house with winding hallways and giant doors and slithering black monsters around every corner. He was scared- of course he was. But there was also a thudding feeling of excitement. A thrill running all the way through his body and matching the music in his ears.
(Where did the music come from? He had no idea, but it seemed perfectly normal. Like the air he was breathing)
He wasn't alone though, the Gray Boy was there too, a smudge of crisp black clothing and flashing weapon. Just watching him make a bolt of pride hit him. This guy knew what he was doing, so with the two of them they would-
-... do whatever it was they were here to do. But even with how fast they were rushing through the halls eventually one of the blobs had to reach them. His companion moved to take it out but-
"Hold on, I got it!"
More excitement, and a thin thread of nerves. What if nothing happened? He really would look like an idiot in front of the other boy. But with a strange yet comfortable flex of will something DOES happen- a card appears
(okay this has to be a dream, cards don't appear out of nothing and glow an-)
which he at once attacks. It shatters like glass and... something comes out. Something huge and humanoid and with a familiar gash of fluttering red. Something as familiar as his arm. And just like knowing what a limb could do he just... knows this thing is here to serve him, and what it is capable of.
Garu
And in a burst of blade-like wind the blob is sliced apart, dissolving into black mist... and the other part of him vanishes just as quick as it appeared.

Sunako Kirishiki | Shiki | Reserved 1/2
Name: beans
Age: 22

Current characters: n/a
CHARACTER INFORMATION
True name: Sunako Kirishiki
Given name: Eve, religious symbolism is very important in Shiki and to Sunako specifically. In canon she identifies with Cain killing Abel but the idea of original sin is also an interesting motif. Sunako is the leader of her family, she is the one that changed most everyone and started the chain of events that caused the downfall of a village. She is the origin point for everything horrible that happens. Since her dream contains religious symbolism, eating the apple, the name will just feel right and she will probably make and understand the connection when she remembers the stories later.
Canon: Shiki
Canonpoint: The confrontation in the burning church.
Sunako is trapped and attacked by Ookawa after running away from the villagers. He tortures her and explains that he is on the side of justice because she brought death and destruction to the town. In canon he is killed by Muroi right before executing her but for the purpose of this game fate is changed and he successfully drives a stake through Sunako's heart.
History: Wiki and episode summaries.
Personality:
Canon
Sunako is characterized by contradictions. She straddles the line between life and death, adult and child, selfish and altruistic. Some of these are more readily apparent than others but she is definitely complex in her simplicity. When all else is removed she is lonely and that colors everything about her.
Despite dying over a hundred years ago and growing up in as many years Sunako still possesses the body of a thirteen year old. She is very much aware that her mental age and physical age do not match up and there are many emotional hang ups she can't move past because of it. Most obvious is her distaste to being treated as a child. She purposefully speaks in a mature and polite way with no cutesy childish phrasing and reacts furiously towards anyone that talks down to her. Her hobbies tend to be very academic as well, with a focus on reading complicated novels and discussing heavy philosophical topics. On the other hand, she craves the affection and closeness of family and appreciates being cared for. This desire to relive her childhood causes her to play pretend and spawns a lot of her more idealistic dreams, such as living as a happy family in a village where shiki do not have to hide. She exists both as a "pure" idol - granted immunity because of her perceived age and idealism - and dauntless leader - who will order swift death to anyone who opposes their plans - to the shiki under he control, filling whatever role they put her in. A lot of her relationships are understandably warped because of this. Although Sunako appears young this leader role as the original vampire crowns her as the matriarch over all and she acts the mother figure more than the child. When the newly risen shiki are unsure of themselves or feel conflicted about their need to kill to live she will sit them down to tea and console them, she reassures them and promises them a bright future where they don't have to hide in the shadows. This dream is impossible and selfish though.
The entire tragedy that occurred in this small town is linked to Sunako's selfish wish to surround herself with comrades. She did not want to be alone anymore. Before they arrived, they were a small group of six that traveled as they needed for survival. Small enough to not leave obvious tracks but large and close enough to see each other as family. However, they did not belong anywhere. Sunako wanted more than that. She wanted a whole village where those like herself could live and work, to visit each other's houses or stop by the store to buy things and chat. A place to call home. This one wish was enough for her to justify killing an entire village and its population of hundreds. She understands that objectively she has no moral ground to stand on and hates herself with the same breath that she justifies her right to live as any other. She is a mass murderer. She has killed so many people that there is no hope for her to remember the name. But she wants to live. There is no pleasure in killing humans, no desire to, but a need that she cannot refute. She is a being that has no reason to live but is afraid of death.
This idea of struggling is a constant theme in Sunako's existence. Does she have the right to kill someone else to live? Does she have the right to live at all? Can she bear these sins? Can she atone for these sins with her death? To live is to struggle. The idea of sins is important to Sunako as she feels like an isolated being, something forsaken by God Himself. Time and time again she comes to the answer that even without approval of some higher being she will live on. Death is equally cruel to all it touches be it a child, elder, living, or undead. She clings strongly to such beliefs. Although she cannot see her own worth she does not want to give up her unnatural existence. She almost does, when she is alone and her plans are falling to ash around her, but she has one last comrade who reaches his hand out to her and pulls her away to keep on struggling and living. As long as one person needs her she will keep going. It should also be stated that even though Sunako sees her actions as sinful and wrong she does not feel guilt per se. It's a fact of life that she has accepted and will not shy away from it. She is as willing to drink from a wine glass as she is directly from a victim's veins and she perceives them both as equal. Hurting another to live is a constant that she will not sugarcoat although she does rationalize it as shown to keep her sanity more or less intact.
These debates and concerns have shaped Sunako a great deal but, as stated, she is still very much the little girl she was before her death. She's outgoing, curious, and empathetic all of which got her into this trouble in the first place as she so readily approached her father's friend who turned out to be a vampire. They've warped over the years though. Outgoing became the charisma of a leader, a person who can make dozens of shiki follow her orders and fear her punishments. No matter the situation she will think of her followers first and give orders before she allows herself a private moment for her own feelings. Her curiosity takes a darker form. She loves talking to and learning about both humans and shiki's views on life and death, with a definite interest in the suicidal and she does not shy away from asking very pointed question. She loves to understand why people think the way they do and she respects their decisions to a fault, assisting in multiple suicides because of this. A show of her empathy, admittedly warped. People hurting is something she understands and she will do what she can to help them. She loves people. When Muroi is bleeding out from a knife wound her first thought isn't to feed from him but to alert the hospital, panicking because she is not strong enough to drag him off the mountain by herself. There is a complicated and lonely woman under all the strife she feels towards living. She just wants to live and have friends and family but she can't do that because on a fundamental level she can't forgive herself for killing to achieve this. Her entire life is a existential crisis and all she wants to do is surround herself in friends and family without feeling like a monster for it. But she can't because she's already accepted herself as a monster anyway. At least she is witty and charming to people while talking to them about things not related to that big issue though.
Haibane
The biggest change Sunako will face with the loss of her memories is she will be happier. Without the constant need to drink blood or memories of doing so she will return to a more childlike personality. Not perfectly. She is too mature, too used to being treated like a leader and relied upon to just return to being a kid but she won't be constantly struggling to provide for others either. She will be curious, nosy, talkative, and still a complete bibliophile. She will also default into being a nurturer and good listener. There will be an instant draw towards any haibane because she will feel a need to be part of a group, looking for a level of acceptance, as well as a drive to prove herself to humans. That doesn't mean she is going to be completely open though. Sunako is called naive by other characters even as a vampire for her ideal of finding love and acceptance, which she is, but she's also fearful by nature and without any memories she will hide things that make her unlovable. Obscuring facts with omission and white lies will come naturally to her since she has had to rely on this before. She's going to be missing years of development for how she rationalized being different so she will have to go through it all over. Meaning she is going to make bad decisions just like any preteen. She will desperately want to make close friends but will also be afraid of scaring them off. As said though, she's an extroverted person by nature so she will never completely close herself off.
Powers:
Although Sunako prefers the name Shiki (corpse demon) she is essentially a very classic vampire and follows a lot of the stereotypes. There's a wide range of strengths and weaknesses so I'm just going to bullet point them.
- Retractable fangs. She can bite and drink from wounds or drink from a glass but she needs to consume blood to live. Cannot eat any solid food but can drink other liquids although they do not help with hunger. If she is hurt and loses blood she becomes hungrier quicker. As a general rule they drink about two cups of blood a night so they need to visit a person consecutively for four nights to suck them dry. Meals can be spaced out if they wish but the hunger becomes overwhelming very quickly, in about a week.
- Mind control/Suggestions. Once a human has been fed on the vampire can give simple orders that the victim will feel compelled to obey even though they don't want to. This influence fades after a few days if the vampire does not come back to feed again. While under the influence of one vampire even if another bites them they cannot give them any orders, it's first come first serve.
- Immortal undead. No need to breath, no heart beat, no aging, their body is completely dead except for brain activity. She cannot get sick, she cannot be intoxicated or knocked out with chemicals, and all wounds heal abnormally fast. Decapitation and destroying the heart are the only surefire ways to kill a vampire.
- Weakness to day. The sun literally boils their skin until they die from shock and burn wounds. Sunako also cannot stay awake during the day even if she is in a dark room, as soon as the sun rises she falls into a coma-like sleep and will only rise at dusk or if she is being assaulted.
- Night vision. Can see perfectly in the dark.
- Invitation. Sunako cannot enter someone's residence without being invited inside directly or as a friend of someone else who has been invited. Public and abandoned buildings do not have these rules and she can enter them freely.
- Religious fear. Inexplicably, vampires develop an irrational fear to all religious symbols when they are reanimated. This includes the full gambit: crosses, Buddhas, charms, talismans, clear bell tones, and so on. The fear is so intense that if they are forced to be near the object for an extended period of time they will pass out. Sunako is affected less than others as she appears better at compartmentalizing things, seeing an abandoned church as devoid of God or reading the Bible simply as a book for example.
- Endurance? Question mark because a vampire literally states that they don't have super human strength, speed, or anything and then they do completely inhuman things anyway. We see vampires jump to second story windows, jump off roofs onto people, and other unbelievable things multiple times. They still very much feel pain when they are hurt but I'm going to assume since they heal so quickly they just bounce back faster than a normal human would from a wound and that is how they get away with this inconsistent shit. In short, Sunako cannot overpower an adult in any way shape or form but she can have both her hands crushed and still get up and going in the next three minutes.
Sunako Kirishiki | Shiki | Reserved 2/2
Job: Tutor and some general chores.
Dream:
Idyllic. The dream starts in a beautiful field with nothing to see for miles but swaying grass, a crisp blue horizon, and a lone tree on a hill. Everything is bright and accommodating, the sun is warm and a cool breeze flutters the skirts of her dress. She could be happy forever in this paradise. Even though she is all alone it doesn't feel as if she is. The young girl strolls through it merrily, humming a calming tune to match her mood, and before she knows it she is before the tree.
It's large, almost imposing in its solidarity, but it provides soothing shade from the sun's rays. She rests for a while. She can't tell for how long. The sun never moves.
Eventually she feels hungry and luckily for her, she thinks, this tree is a fruit bearing one. She's so short though and the tree is so tall... She has to climb. It's not hard, it's actually an inviting challenge considering the strong low branches. However, with every branch she pulls herself up with the hunger grows from a small inkling to growling pangs to a constant gnawing at the empty pit in her stomach. Her movements become desperate. She jumps. She ignores sturdier paths to grab thinner branches to reach it just one second faster. She needs it.
Finally it is in her hands as she balances precariously on a tree limb. No hesitation or thoughts to climb back down before eating, her body is screaming with the hunger now, she sinks her teeth into the flesh of the fruit. That is as far as she gets. The sweet juice never touches her tongue. Her senses are overwhelmed by the heady scent and taste or iron and she jerks back as the fruit bleeds. A constant stream of bright red blood that leaks between her fingers to waterfall down the tree.
Desperately, frantically, she begins to wipe the sticky warm substance from her face with a sleeve but she is already covered. She doesn't drop the fruit. She can't drop the fruit. Impossibly fast the world around her dies as the blood seeps into the ground. What was once bright green now a dull brown. All but the strong tree that still cradles her within a shell of leaves, the dappled sunlight piercing the canopy scorching hot on her face. In the distance she sees something new sprouting from the arid field. Corpses crawling and pushing themselves out of the ground. All of them facing and approaching her.
The girl curls up on the branch. They can't reach her here. She is safe.
Nothing is truly safe and the blood soaked wood creaks under her slight weight. She doesn't scream when it snaps. Suddenly there is nothing obstructing her and she falls into the waiting arms of corpses.
Trial:
Why has God forsaken me? Is it a sin to want to live?
Sunako's trial is completely tied to self reflection and, in essence, the acceptance of her death and sins that came afterwards. She sees herself as a murderer and a sinner but she still wants to live- only to get murdered by a man who claims to be justice. Her goal will be a search for fulfillment, acceptance, and grace. She wants to be forgiven. In canon her strongest attachments are to those she considers family and humans who can accept her despite her need to feed off human blood. In canon, she is "saved" in the end by Muroi telling her that she is forsaken and that is okay because that also absolve her of her sins, she is outside the realm of God and completely alone. I doubt she will reach the same conclusion without Muroi to tell her his opinion, and in my opinion would result in becoming sin-locked and bad end, but it's a good idea of what she wants. In canon her sins don't count because she is Alone... How will her sins be forgiven as a Haibane?
I plan to have her tackle this trial by wanting to be of use to others. She will face a compulsion to be self sacrificing because her sins in life are tied closely to being "selfish" and putting her life above others. She rationalized murder as acceptable because it meant she didn't have to starve. She rationalized murdering a whole town so she could surround herself with friends and family similar to her. She spent her whole life rationalizing the horrible things she does while hating herself in the process and never truly accepting herself. There is no doubt that she will struggle with this because she won't ever have clear memories of why she feels like a monster. With regained fragmented memories she'll know she did something horrible, murder, but never know exactly what, how, and to what extent. She will need the support of others to reassure her and forgive her so that she can forgive herself. If she can't make any close emotional ties with her fellow haibane and confide in them she will suffer. She will also have to face her fear of death and accept that but that is secondary to the acceptance of her sins.

[It has been a while since Sunako was accepted as a tutor for the villager's children. It was a surreal experience being able to read and understand long and difficult books, she must have always been a bibliophile, while simultaneously not remembering any fine details from past novels. So far she had managed to scrape by but she wouldn't get far in helping the children write their own essays if she didn't refresh her memory of the classics.
A girl on a mission, Sunako has set up shop in the town's library and is ready to buckle down for the next couple of hours. She has already amassed a collection of familiar sounding titles around a plump armchair. A lot of the books caught her eye actually but she was sticking with things that looked popular, she could indulge in the more niche novels after reestablishing her base. Maybe then she would know in more certain terms what her tastes were in the first place.
However, there are roadblocks in her road to good reading as well. Like very tall shelves. Which is why she tugs on the sleeve of whomever is closest to the shelf in question, the fact they are a fellow Haibane emboldens her, and shares her brightest smile. Who could say no to such a lovable little girl? Surely no one she's talking to, she hopes. As soon as she has their attention she lets go to point up to a high shelf.]
Excuse me, could you grab that for me?

CHARACTER INFORMATION
True name: Shiro Fujimoto
Given name: Kai. The kanji for Kai is 海, and it means 'sea' or 'ocean', which is meant to refer to the water he is being dragged into in his dream. But another reading for that kanji is 'Shi', so it also kindasorta relates back to his real name of Shiro for double-meaningfulness. (the 'Shi' in Shiro being the kanji for 'lion', and the 'ro' part being the kanji for 'son'.)
Canon: Blue Exorcist
Canonpoint: Chapter 1, when he dies
History: Some of Shiro's history can be found on this page here. However, that particular wiki follows the anime, which sort of follows along with the manga but ends long before important parts of Shiro's past are revealed. So, I'll write out what is missing from there.
During one of the story arcs in the manga, there is an extended flashback to an event that took place nearly sixteen years before the start of canon. On a snowy mountain in Kyoto, there was a temple that housed a Buddhist sect known as the Myou Dha. They were the guardians of the corpse of a demon called the Impure King, and their sole duty was to ensure that the Impure King was never revived. They also guarded the holy weapon which had defeated the Impure King, a special kind of sword which is called 'Koumaken' in this canon.
One day, Shiro showed up at that mountain to retrieve the Koumaken. He was under orders from higher-ups in the Order, and he didn't really have much of a choice in the matter. Unfortunately, he was injured in his journey to the temple, so he couldn't just run off with the sword. He ended up being captured by the monks of the Myou Dha sect, and he had to face a lot of questions when he woke up.
Fortunately for him, the monk assigned to look over him was a softie by the name of Suguro Tatsuma, and was already doubting the rules of the Myou Dha sect. See, at this time, many of the residents of the temple had fallen ill from miasma poisoning (basically, 'bad shit demons spew out to make humans sick'). The monks had tried to pray the sickness away, but nothing was working, and each day the ill fell sicker and sicker. It didn't help that Tatsuma's wife, who was pregnant with their son, was one of the sick people. So when Shiro suddenly said that he would be able to cure everyone, Tatsuma was all too eager to let him try.
Shiro's efforts to cure everyone certainly earned him the favor of many of the residents of the temple, but it didn't sway him on the whole 'wanting to take an important religious relic from the temple' thing. This time around, though, it was different. Shiro didn't have to steal the sword again, since Tatsuma was able to get it for him and show him how to escape the mountain before the monks captured him again.
The flashback ends there, but other flashbacks tell us the rest of Shiro's story: eventually an exorcist by the name of Yuri Egin gave birth to Rin and Yukio, and Shiro was the one who was supposed to kill them. However, instead of killing them, he used the Koumaken to seal Rin's powers and ended up adopting both boys. He hid their true identities and raised them as normal humans, giving them the chance at life that the Order would have taken from them.
Personality: The first thing to know about Shiro Fujimoto is that appearances are really, really deceiving. He is a highly-decorated member of the True Cross Order, holding the rank of Paladin and thus being at the very top of everything. He's also considered to be the strongest exorcist in the world, with even Satan himself considering Shiro to be a challenge. But despite all of these great rumors about his strength and abilities, Shiro is just a dirty old man who loves to joke around and flirt with hot women. Even though he is the Paladin, he is nothing like the ideal image of a catholic priest.
Shiro has a thing when it comes to following orders. Namely, he'll pick apart the orders to find out what the end goal is, then go about reaching that goal in his own way. As far as he's concerned, the ends justify the means, which is why he has absolutely no problem befriending demons or stealing things from other religious orders if it will solve whatever problem is laid out in front of him. This has burned more than a few bridges in the past, but Shiro has learned to accept that.
He tries to play tough, but beneath his rugged exterior Shiro is actually a very kind person. He can kill demons in dozens of different ways, but he would rather not harm them if another solution is possible. This is partially why Shiro is so laid-back: why fight if you can make friends instead? Of course, Shiro is a very experienced exorcist, so he can tell when talking isn't going to work anymore. If that's the case, he'll stop with the friendly talk and start with the shooting. Diplomacy is preferable, but he doesn't lose sight of his goals.
Being a Paladin, Shiro is supposed to protect humans from the influence of demons. He does take this job at least somewhat seriously, and he will step up and do his job if a human is in danger. However, there is one thing he values above his job and humanity: his two sons, Rin and Yukio. They come first, though he will try to find a way to keep his boys safe and fulfill his job as a Paladin. Shiro is the master of compromises, so long as he gets what he wants out of it.
Shiro is also an old soul. While he's decidedly in the middle-aged range at 49 years old, he's seen a lot in his life. It's never specifically stated how long he's been with the order, but given that there's classes for beginning exorcists at the high-school level, it's reasonable to assume he's been at it for a while. In that time, he's seen a lot of things, both wonderful and horrible, and it has shaped him into the person he is today. He's very laid-back and enjoys taking his time with things. Peace and quiet doesn't last long, so he doesn't like to interrupt those quiet moments with stupid drama or seriousness.
It's important to note that Shiro is very bad at following rules. He does what he wants when he wants to do it, regardless of what other people think. His experience has a lot to do with this: he's been through a lot, so he knows what works and what doesn't work. Another reason for his behavior is that he's more interested in following the intent of the law than the word. He knows that even the best of intentions can actually be harmful, so decisions need to be made on a case-by-case basis. This is why Shiro listens to people and tries to make compromises, rather than just saying "Well it's against the rules so you can't do that." Following D&D alignments, he would be solidly within the 'chaotic good' square. Also, he doesn't like doing extra work when it is unnecessary, so he lets small things go if nobody is hurt by it.
Another important part of Shiro's identity is one of a parent. He adopted Rin and Yukio fifteen years before the start of canon, and being a father definitely changed him. In the flashbacks we see, he was more cold and serious, not letting his kind side out as often. But after several years of being a dad, he is much more friendly and open. He's also been shown to give up bad habits (namely smoking) for the sake of his boys.
In the end, Shiro has two distinct identities: Shiro the father, and Shiro the Paladin. When he's the father (both in a religious sense and a paternal sense), he is very calm, kind, and helpful. He's a fan of tough love, but he does genuinely care about his family and the people who come to his church. When he's the Paladin, though, he's extremely tough and does what needs to be done. Both of these are part of who he is, and it's how he has adapted to his crazy life.
Without his memories, Shiro will still be mostly the same. He has developed a 'paternal instinct' and will take up the role of 'protector' or 'teacher' pretty quickly. The one big change is that he will be a lot less violent in Glie. No demons to fight, plus no memories of how to use all the demon-killing powers he has, means that he will be sticking more to the 'laid-back old guy who is somehow responsible' part of who he is.
Powers: Most of what he can do more falls under 'trained abilities,' but I will list them here anyway.
There are five different classes for exorcists: Knight, Dragoon, Tamer, Doctor, and Aria. Excluding Tamer, which is special, any exorcist can technically do any of the different classes. For example, a Knight could recite Aria verses in a pinch if they needed to. However, most exorcists specialize in one or two of the different classes. Using current Box characters as an example, Rin focuses on Knight, and Yukio focuses on Doctor and Dragoon. Shiro is different in that he has a Meister (essentially a rank, showing that they are competent enough to be recognized in that area by the True Cross Order) in all five areas. He has been shown to favor Dragoon and Aria, but he is also a very talented Doctor and Tamer. He hasn't specifically been shown using Knight abilities, but given that he stole a sword and intended on using it, it is reasonable to assume that he is a competent Knight as well.
In addition to all of this, Shiro has been shown to do judo.
Memory bank: right here!
Job: Teacher to young feathers, or storyteller at the library
Dream: The dream begins with Shiro somehow underwater. It is dark, and it feels like the dark will swallow him up if he doesn't escape. Kicking forcefully, Shiro pushes himself to the surface, gasping for air as he breaks out of the water.
For a moment, he treads water there, looking around. The water is deep, but not very wide, he realizes. The shore is not far away, and he can see others on the beach. Hopeful, he starts to swim towards them.
A hand reaches up out of the water. 'help me,' he hears, though the voice is not spoken but rather echoes through his mind, 'please, help me!' The hand grabs onto Shiro's shoulder, pulling him down a little deeper. Grunting, Shiro tries to keep his head above the water, but still pulls the arm (the person?) along with him. He can save this person too.
Another arm reaches up. And then another. And another. More and more arms grab onto him, each one accompanied by a different voice saying 'help me'. With each arm, Shiro is pulled just a little bit deeper into the water. And as he sinks slowly, dry land seems to get further and further away.
He struggles to keep his head above the water, and his very thoughts are shouted away by the cries of 'help me'. Try as he might, he can't keep going, he can't save everyone by himself.
He is so close to shore now. He can see the people there, and they can see him, but they can't see how he is being dragged under by all of the people grabbing onto him. Shiro keeps swimming, he has to, but if only he had a little bit of help-
But he can't call out to them. He doesn't even try. Even though help is right there, and can come get him and save all of these people, he can't bring himself to ask for their help. Even a moment wasted calling for them could end up with someone dead-
And just like that, Shiro is finally pulled under.
Trial: Shiro is a busybody who has to have all of his irons in the fire. In life, he was the highest-ranking exorcist in the whole world. He was basically the go-to guy whenever anything went to shit. If nothing else, everyone could rely on him.
Shiro is reluctant to give that up. He didn't like any of the potential candidates to replace him (even though he wasn't that old, the Order always has backups, in case the unexpected happens), and he didn't like a lot of the higher-ups in the Order. He has a really hard time giving others the chance to save the day; even when other exorcists were completing missions and doing their work competently, Shiro was never far away, just in case.
His trial is going to be letting others take care of responsibilities, instead of always being there to jump in and help. Not just of those particular circumstances, but of being 'in charge' in general. The whole reason he couldn't cross over peacefully was that he felt that nobody could replace him and that he HAD to do his job, so his trial is all about him learning to accept that he can and will be replaced when he is gone, and that he should accept that, rather than being overly-critical of those who will eventually replace him. Once he is done in the world, then he can't keep worrying about it. He has to trust that others can handle everything, and just let go if it all.
I don't plan on immediately developing Shiro in that direction, because I feel like he would try to help the other Haibane and be like the housemother or whatever of wherever he ends up living. I want him to really struggle with it for a while before finally learning to trust that others are competent enough to do the thing without him hovering over their shoulder.

Memories: one and two!
RP sample: [Life at Old Home isn't so bad, Shiro realizes. It certainly isn't as exciting as some of the other nests, but somehow the peace is comforting. He would rather deal with the small children and hard work than noisy adults and vices.
Of course, being 'older' means that the kids look up to him, and as such he has quite a few responsibilities. One of which being 'take care of the needs of the kids, they are tiny and can't do a lot of things grownups can.' Shiro's cooking leaves much to be desired, so he always ends up on 'patchwork' duty. Meaning, when things rip, he fixes them.
Shiro is sitting on the steps to the West Hall. He has a sewing kit next to him, and a dress in his hands. He carefully stitches up a rip in the hem as a pair of girls, no older than 8, watch him curiously. The wing holes are fine, so he doesn't have to mess with those. And as soon as he is done, he holds the dress out to one of the girls.]
There we go. Good as new!
[The girls thank him before running off to the building where the young feathers stay. Chuckling, Shiro watches them for a moment before turning his attention to the other person present.]
Sorry about that. You had something that needed stitching up too?
[He might as well take care of that while he has the sewing kit out, even if it means a bit more work for him now.]

N | Pokemon Black/White | Expired Reserve
Name: Dodo
Age: 32
Contact: AIM: speakofthewolf
Current characters: N/A
CHARACTER INFORMATION
True name: Natural "N" Harmonia Gropius
Given name: Rainbow
Canon: Pokemon Black/White
Canonpoint: After losing to the player in the Reshiram/Zekrom battle and finding out the truth behind Ghetsis's plan.
History: N at Bulbagarden. Only the portion of the history relating to Black/White applies, not the sequels or the manga.
Personality:
"N's heart is pure and innocent. But there is nothing more beautiful and terrifying than innocence." - Concordia, Pokemon Black/White
N was almost totally isolated from other human beings for the majority of his young life. He was kept in a room filled with children's toys long past when he would be considered to be too old for such things and spoon-fed lies in order to be molded into a puppet for someone else's world domination scheme. It wasn't until he was a young adult that everything fell to pieces around him, and the man he'd come to think of as his father revealed he considered him a heartless freak once he'd failed in his task as a pawn. All of this formed the conflicted, socially awkward, and blindly passionate person N is.
Thanks to his sheltered upbringing, N isn't the best when it comes to social situations. When he's feeling passionate about a topic, it's not unusual for him to talk very quickly as if he simply cannot share his wondrous information fast enough. His text in game moves faster than that of other characters, and he's even asked to 'slow down' by one of the main characters. He seems to have little understanding of personal space or proper etiquette with strangers, as from your very first meeting he'll pop in out of seemingly nowhere and just start rambling on to the player character without considering if he's welcome. It also seems to escape him that your typical person isn't going to insert comparisons to mathematics regularly in conversation. There is a certain arrogance he carries when it comes to topics he feels that he has the right answer about and he is incredibly stubborn about them. He likely does consider himself above typical humans as he feels they lack his level of enlightenment about how the world should be. Right off the bat he will not believe people who try and explain to him that Pokemon and humans can work together and be friends.
As confident as he seems in his idealistic view of the world at the start of the game, it doesn't take very long once for seeds of doubt to be planted in him. The only Pokemon he'd been allowed to speak to before adulthood were ones that had been horribly abused by their trainers, and thus offered him a very limited view of what being a Pokemon trainer is all about. While he does try his very best to hold onto his original feelings about the situation, his conflict becomes apparent even early on when he realizes the protagonist's Pokemon are quite happy with their trainer. He confesses that, while he does intend to make a world where people and Pokemon are separate, it breaks his heart that people that are friends to their Pokemon will be separated from them. There's also the fact he feels incredibly guilty that to accomplish his goal he too must battle with Pokemon himself, a hypocrisy that eats away at him throughout the game, even if he doesn't keep his 'friends' in pokeballs or make them follow him. Even as these doubts grow and multiply as he meets more trainers and their Pokemon, he pushes himself forward to his goal by convincing himself the exceptions he's seen must be the minority. All of this comes to a very traumatizing head when the very person that taught him his whole way of thinking reveals that not only does he not actually believe in it, but that he is far more selfish and cruel than any of the trainers N has met.
N is not an immovable rock - he is open to change and comes to embrace the idea that accepting different ideas makes a better world by the end of the game's story. It takes awhile for reality to sink in, but once he learns the world isn't the place he was told it was, he starts to embrace a new way of thinking. He returns in a later game with a different outlook, wanting to protect both people and Pokemon and being grateful for having learned how to 'live as a human.'. He even tries to politely reason with the man who only used and lied to him his entire life, even though it ends up being fruitless. Overall, he comes out of a very bad situation with a surprisingly positive view on life.
Powers: His only ability is to understand the speech of Pokemon, which wouldn't have much use here.
Memory bank: Here!
Dream:
There is a forest where everything is pure white. Every branch, every blade of grass, every pebble, and every patch of moss is the same unblemished color. He is walking along a path, feeling peaceful and calm. It is familiar, and therefore it is comfortable. Then, a sense of foreboding begins to creep in, and as he looks ahead the endless white is broken.
There stands a city of black. In contrast to the forest, every building, every streetlight, and every slab of concrete is dark as night. The sight fills him with anxiety, which is only heightened when inky tendrils of black start to leak into the whiteness of the forest. In a panic, he grabs whatever he can in order to try and build a fence to keep the blackness in, only to find it manages to seep through cracks in spite of his best efforts. He goes faster and faster, but no matter how quickly he moves the blackness finds a way in. The tendrils are soon all around him, curling around his body and seeming as if they're going to consume him. The very second it seems as if he'll be totally covered in the blackness, there's an intense flash of light that blinds him.
When his ability to see returns, there is no longer just black and white. It seems as if every possible color is on display, shining vibrantly beneath a bright blue sky. Instead of two different places clearly separated, the city and forest appear to be in harmony. It only lasts for a moment or two before the dream abruptly ends.
Trial:
N's trial overall relates to his inability to see issues as more than black and white. He was raised in such a way as to only see one side of the argument on Pokemon and their relationship with humans, and thus believes the only way for his 'friends' (Pokemon) to be happy is for them to be separated from humans. He was on the cusp of realizing the truth before ending up in Glie thanks to meeting many Pokemon who adored being with their trainers and also finding out the one who brainwashed him most of his life was merely using him for his own ends. While his memories of that world and its conflict are currently unreachable, his awkwardness around other humans remains. I would like for him to learn to relate better with human beings and see that there are many opinions and outlooks beyond his own that he must learn to accept. As he had little frame of reference to start with, this will not be easy. He will find himself gravitating more towards nature and animals than other humans, and will be very stubborn with his opinions. In general he also has a very no nonsense and mathematical outlook on the world as a whole, being enamored with the concept of everything having a logical answer. In addition to that, he was kept away from other humans save for a select few and thus is fairly socially awkward and needs to learn to trust and care for his fellow human beings as much as he had Pokemon.

Memories:
"Playmates" - He's in a room. It's a very familiar room. There are toys everywhere that he adores - a basketball hoop, a skateboard ramp, blocks, and a train set. He's placing colorful blocks on the train to test how many it can carry. There's the sound of a door creaking open behind him, which causes him to quickly turn around. A little red creature is pushed into the room and the door is then shut. The species is not unknown to him, but he does not know this particular one. He approaches it, excited to befriend it -- but it lashes out at him! It spits flame and the burn hurts enough to send him tumbling backwards. It's not just physical pain he feels, however, but an aching deep in his heart.
"The Cave" - This memory takes place in a cave. It is quite unique, in that the cave has a strong magnetic field, meaning the very air is alive with electric currents that have fascinating effects. He feels very comfortable here, but at the same time there's a worry slowly building up inside of him. He hears footsteps coming from the direction of the cave's entrance. He knows it's the child. The one who does not agree. His feelings about them are conflicting, and that surprises him. They refuse to see things his way, and yet he feels a need to keep trying. They are going to want to fight him, and he's going to have to use his friends to do so. He hates the feeling of using his friends to fight, but he has no real choice. Now the child is within earshot. Time to fight.
RP sample:
[Working at the farm was surprisingly satisfying to him.
Sure, it wasn't exactly something that had come without awkwardness. When it came to people, he never felt one hundred percent sure of where he stood. While he was careful not to betray that in his words, it had been obvious from the perplexed looks the owner had given him during his interview for the position that he wasn't exactly coming off as 'normal'. With each confused expression he felt himself becoming more and more flustered, totally unsure of how to correct the situation. Had this always been the case? What in the world had he done before all this if he couldn't even communicate normally with other people?
As luck would have it, however, the farmer also wished to see how he worked directly with the animals. Something about them put his mind and heart at ease, and he found interacting with them to feel worlds more natural. Even though he still needed some instruction on their specific dietary needs and general husbandry, it was all taken in with great interest and gusto. Seeing how well and quickly he took to the work, the farmer had decided to hire him.
He actually found himself looking forward to rising before the sun came up every morning and making his way to the farm to tend to his animal friends - and as far as he was concerned, they were his friends. Even though they couldn't talk, his voice could be heard cheerfully nattering away at them as he went about his various duties.]

Natsuhi Ushiromiya | Umineko no Naku Koro ni | Not reserved
Name: Kittylyoko
Age: 21

Current characters:None
CHARACTER INFORMATION
True name: Natsuhi Ushiromiya
Given name: Aki (Autumn)
Natsuhi's favorite season, and something very few people know. In fact
even her husband and daughter weren't aware of it because it was simply
something that never came up in conversation. So she was quite surprised when a
mysterious young man phoned and knew about it especially with the other things he said.
Canon: Umineko no Naku Koro ni
Canonpoint: EP5 after the end of the episode
History: http://umineko.wikia.com/wiki/Natsuhi_Ushiromiya
Personality:
The first two word that you think of with Natsuhi are prim and proper. Even the other family members think so, with the younger members including her daughter Jessica thinking they can't joke around with her and the adults thinking she's too proud.
They're both right to some extent. Natsuhi rarely shows a sense of humor and its even rarer for her to be happy. Though she does have her reasons, which requires a some of the family history to understand. Natsuhi's husband, Krauss is the next family head. Because of this and his behavior in his younger years his siblings hate him. But because he is second in line they can't do much other than make sly comments and try to gang up on him. Eva, third in line takes this a step further and targets Jessica and Natsuhi as well. Jessica either ignores it or doesn't notice. Natsuhi on the other hand is constantly wary of Eva, hesitating at the 'nicer' things she says and outright arguing back. After knowing her for 30 years Eva is aware of what will set Natsuhi off and is perfectly fine with saying it just to make Natsuhi angry. The biggest things would be insulting her husband, father-in-law, her daughter or Natsuhi's abilities at keeping the servants in line. A part of the reason for Eva's treatment is that despite being married to the next heir, Natsuhi ranks 9th behind the children. If there were grandchildren Natsuhi would be put behind them. Because of this Eva thinks that Natsuhi acts higher ranked than she really is.
Natsuhi is much closer to her immediate family which consists of her daughter Jessica and husband Krauss, despite not seeming that way at first. She is incredibly protective both of them, though it is much more noticeable with Jessica. Were in the first episode she throws four people out of the only safe area, including two people that she has known for around thirty years and her nine year old niece. While stating she'd become the worse type of demon as long as it meant Jessica was safe. She is the first to stand up and defend her daughter when Kinzo pounders the worth of his grandchildren despite most characters fear and her own respect of him. Unfortunately Jessica and Natsuhi have a lot of trouble getting along due Natsuhi's strict personality clashing with Jessica' carefree and brash one.
For the first few episodes it would be easy to assume that Natsuhi and Krauss disliked each other. Particularly in the first episode Natsuhi tries to defend Krauss from his siblings when he reprimands her and tells her to leave, and hiding important information from her. Which leads to her wondering if he doesn't trust her or that h doesn't think that she is capable of helping him, this causes her to be more determined to prove herself to him and the rest of the family. A lot of Krauss's treatment of Natsuhi comes from his upbringing that he should be able to handle everything by himself. Some of his actions are him trying to protect Natsuhi from his sibling, though most of the time he ends up unintentionally hurting her more. Despite their troubles and the amount they argue, they are shown to be very loyal and willing to make sacrifices to defend each other. Unfortunately they tend to trip over themselves in their attempts to defend each over. She is so devoted to Krauss that when her tries to divorce her and send her away so that she and Jessica could leave and not be affected by his businesses trouble. Natsuhi very quickly declares that she doesn't care about that will stay with him till death regardless of what happens.
It isn't shown often but Natsuhi is shown to be fairly good at planing and is the person who thought of pretending Kinzo was still alive. Her planing skills come from arranging the servants which is one of her few jobs. She is also shown to be very polite unless angered even if she has a tendency to very blunt when stating her opinion. She isn't smart by any means but she has plenty of common sense when she's calm.
Her pride and protective nature are both her greatest asset and flaw. In that it lends her a lot of strength and the ability to deal with things she wouldn't otherwise. It makes her able to stay calm and protect her daughter and the cousins when there's a murderer running around. But it also makes her capable of pointing a gun at her 9 year old niece when she hints about knowing who the murder is and kicking her and a few others out of the only safe area once they become a threat to her daughter. In the normal family meetings she's quick to defend and draw attention to herself and aware from her husband. Much to his annoyance because when she gets worked up she can let things slip.
Perhaps the biggest example of her pride causing trouble would be the man from 19 years ago. He is her son, or he was supposed to be. Natsuhi couldn't bring herself to accept him as her own. After all she'd been taken from her birth family and married to Krauss so that he could have an heir and after 12 years there still wasn't one. So Kinzo gave her a newborn child to look after commenting that it was obvious that she couldn't have kids. For a while Natsuhi tried to accept them but all the baby did was remind her that she had failed. Eventually She took a walk to get away from them, she didn't want to her them or what they meant. Unfortunately a maid caring for the child decided to follow her, which lead to the maid and baby falling from a cliff. As far as Natsuhi is concerned she wished that child was dead and pushed them through a weak spot in the fence. Afterwards she ran back to the house saying that she'd lost sight of them. Once they were found it was treated as an accident. When the maid's husband died Natsuhi went to his grave and apologised but she couldn't do anything for the child, she didn't even remember their name so she shoved it to the back of her mind again.
Without her memories she wouldn't be as defensive, though she'd still be just a stricted and stubborn as ever. Even if something upset her she wouldn't remember why it made her angry which would make her calm down quicker than if she had her memories. She'd be more outspoken as well, mainly because she isn't being told to be be quiet.

Memory bank: I'll format this to make it look nicer in a day or two.
Dream:
The ringing from the phone filled her with dread. But she had to be brave, she wouldn't back down, she couldn't. After letting it ring another time she sighed and picked up the receiver... Silence? She'd hang up then, except he spoken when she said it.
'I want to play with you mom... Your name is nice, what's you favorite season mom?'
What kind of thing was that to ask? And why would she tell him that?
'You don't want me to hang up do you'
No... She didn't want that. She'd rather know that he was on the phone to her and not causing trouble. So she'd listen to him for now even if she didn't understand why. She hadn't expected him to start yelling. The entire time he'd spoken slowly and softly she wasn't sure if it was to drag out the call or to make sure she listened. The same went for the pauses she wasn't sure it was intentional or just her memory.
'I can tell your husband and daughter what you did 19 years ago.'
Slowly she let the phone rest as she walked towards the clock. Under it it? There shouldn't be anything except maybe a sicker from the maker. But that wouldn't have come loose when she ran her fingers along it.
She pulled it away to find a card with a single character on it 'autumn'. Her breath hitch as she nearly ran back to the phone. He was talking again as soon as she picked it up.
'Tell me your happy mom... Don't worry I'll be quiet about it. Doesn't that make you happy?.'
She felt her legs slowly crumple under as she curled up on the floor. Her eyes darting from the window to the door. Both were locked and the chain was on the door. How?
She hardly managed to get the question out. But he seemed to hear her over the rain without any issue. then he gave her instructions. Don't leave her bedroom, don't contact anyone outside, just go to bed and go to sleep.
'Don't break my rules. I'm right beside you.'
She wasn't going to question it this time. He'd gotten into her room and not been seen. She knew she wouldn't be able to sleep but what choice did she have at the moment?
Trial:
Natsuhi has a lot of flaws when it comes to speaking with people for a lot of reasons. She doesn't open up enough to really make friends and her short-temper, formality and wariness doesn't help. For her trust and prides issues she needs to be put in a situation were she needs help and to cooperate to build up trust and make her less suspicious of others. As for her temper there are several ways to calm her down. Being just as argumentative, speaking enough sense to get through to her or just plain waiting it out and speaking once she's calm would work. She might still have a temper but without her memories there wouldn't be enough to make her break down and run off and she isn't the type to get physical when arguing.
Her larger trial would be everything involving the child from 19 years ago. Natsuhi never forgot about them even if she tried and she never forgave herself for what she did on that day. Not that she should, she knows that much herself and sees it as unforgivable but she couldn't even apologise at their grave like she did with the maid. Or confess to what she's done until she's confronted with it. When given a chance to speak with that child about it she doesn't understand why they'd forgive her.
Given a chance though Natsuhi would like nothing more than to redeem herself even if she thinks it's impossible. Mixed with her protective nature and habit of going overboard she could very easily end up trying to defend anyone under the age of 25.

She was used to the wings, they were fine now they weren't flapping around at random. Even if they made it difficult to sleep. What she wasn't used to was needing a hole in the back of her shirt to accommodate them. In summer with a nice summer dress it would have been fine. No amount of thick woolly scarf would stop the chill even as her hunched her shoulders up and tied to bury her face in the fabric.
Aki stopped her face scrunching up before sneezing, her hands flying to her face. She was still for a moment before glaring around then shoved her hands in pockets and putting her head down. Her pace quickened, she just wanted to get back to the old home.
She only just clipped someone, but it was enough to make her stumble. Stopping again she craned her neck to glare at that someone. That was definitely their fault, they should have moved out of the way.

Canon: Yubisaki Milk Tea
Canonpoint: Volume 10, chapter 83 - while sightseeing with Hidari in Kyoto, Yoshinori tries to catch her from slipping down the stairs to a temple. However, he ends up slipping instead, and tumbles down the stairway to his untimely death.

The overall plot of Yubisaki Milk Tea follows Yoshinori Ikeda as he tries to figure out which of two young ladies he truly loves, as all the while he must deal with his growing interest in being Yuki, his female alter-ego when he engages in cross-dressing.
The first volume deals with Yoshinori becoming aware of his next door neighbor and childhood friend Hidari as she enters puberty and awakens to her femininity, as well as her growing crush on Nori. Meanwhile, he begins to befriend the friendless and unapproachable Minamo, a girl in his class whom Yoshinori likes. He reveals to both girls in this volume that he goes around as Yuki and tries to deal with his emotional issues using the Yuki facade. The main conflict established, the second volume begins with Yoshinori noticing changes in his own body that leads him to believe he will no longer be able to pull off cross-dressing. However, Minamo insists that he dress as "Catherine" (what she initially dubbed his alter-ego) if he wants to remain friends with her (and for her to keep his secret from the rest of the school). Thoughtlessly, Yoshinori shares kisses with both Minamo and Hidari in this volume, who soon after find out that he's making moves on both girls. Even though he admits to knowing it's wrong and unfair of him, it establishes the pattern where Nori cannot pick between them, ultimately deciding that he likes whichever girl he is with at the moment, only to feel guilt about it later when he's in the company of the other. Yoshinori's best friend, Wataru, also meets Yuki for the first time, when Nori nearly reveals himself; instead of making the connection between the two, however, it triggers Wataru's growing interest in Yuki instead. He even asks Minamo to introduce him to Yuki properly; Minamo agrees to bring her, forcing Yoshinori to lie to his friend and do his best to dissuade any pursuit of Yuki by his best friend. However, even though Yuki tells Wataru he'd have to give up soccer for her to agree to date him, Wataru confides in Yoshinori that he's falling for "her".
In volume three, Yoshinori begins to realize how much he dislikes men, especially in the way they act toward women; he also realizes that he sees those traits in himself, in the way he acts with Hidari and Minamo and is unable to decisively choose one girl. During a trip to the beach with Hidari and his sister Miki, his sister tells him he's becoming more manly, which leads him to realize the "male" part of himself is crushing the "girl inside him". In the beginning of the volume, he seems to have chosen Hidari, especially when he thinks that by being with Hidari he can give up on wanting to be Yuki, however when he dresses up as Yuki to break things off with Minamo, it only makes him realize how much she means to him too. "I won't make Hidari cry" is one promise he makes to himself; however "I want to grant her every wish" is his desire for Minamo. He is torn between wanting to make both girls happy, but is only succeeding in making everyone (including himself) miserable. After breaking it off with Minamo, he meets Nogi, a first year on the basketball team, practicing alone after school. Yoshinori (as Yuki), ends up challenging her to a one-on-one that ends in a twisted ankle and a misplaced wig, revealing his secret inadvertently to another. Nogi is quick to accept Yoshinori, and even encourages him to cry when she can tell he's bottling up his emotional pain. In return, Yoshinori asks Nogi to befriend Minamo, as he feels he cannot be friends as Yuki with her without it being "cheating" in Hidari's eyes. But in pushing Minamo to make friends, Yoshinori becomes jealous of them. He dresses as Yuki (his standard procedure when interacting with Minamo), and tries to tell her not to be so friendly with Nogi, but as this contradicts what he'd told her before, his words and actions leave them both confused and upset. Yoshinori takes Hidari out on a date for Valentine's Day, and has convinced himself to stick with his decision...but the volume ends with Minamo asking to be near Nori, even if that means she's second, and they end up making out for awhile.
Volume four finds Yoshinori, his sister Miki, Hidari, her father, and Hidari's friend Kagami going to a hot springs for a vacation. While there, Hidari tries to seduce Yoshinori, but at the last minute realizes she's not ready and stops him. His behavior and willingness to take what was offered only serves to reenforce Yoshinori's loathing for men, and his own physicality as a male. When he returns to school as a second year, he continues to hang out with Minamo as Yuki, often watching the soccer team and Wataru. Though Wataru pursues Yuki, Yoshinori encourages the soccer team manager to go after him, since she clearly has a crush on Wataru. But when Chigaya puts an unsigned gift in Wataru's locker (since she's not supposed to play favorites), he thinks the gift is from Yuki. Wataru asks her about the gift, but Yoshinori tells him it wasn't from him; still, Wataru insists on his feelings for Yuki, and Nori takes out his disgust for himself and men in general out on his friend. Yet Wataru counters that there is nothing wrong with boys being perverted, and Yoshinori, feeling grateful toward his friend, gives him a kiss as Yuki.
In volume five, Yoshinori as Yuki models for a fellow student's painting. Kodama figures out pretty easily that Yuki is Nori, especially as it was Yoshinori's idea in the first place that he try painting a girl to get out of an artistic slump. Minamo's birthday is coming up, and Yoshinori invites her over to celebrate. He bakes her a cake, and then tries to seduce her. She allows him to, but are interrupted by Miki returning home from work. Miki threatens Minamo never to return to their apartment, and berates Nori for picking someone other than Hidari, to which he confesses that he's falling in love with Minamo.
The sixth volume sees Yoshinori contemplating moving out and quitting school, feeling as though he is behind everyone else and needs a way to "catch up"; but Miki asks him to stay, both in the apartment and school, and Nori, realizing that he's not ready to take care of himself, agrees. Some time later, Nori (as Yuki), finally relents and asks Wataru out on a date. They go shopping and eat dinner at a fancy restaurant, and on the walk home Wataru again confesses how he loves Yuki. Though for Wataru it was a date, for Yoshinori it was a test on his ability to pass as a real girl, and he finds himself in shock to realize he was acting as though he were a real girl. He starts to look at the women in his life, envying them their bodies. When he realizes that, if he had been born a girl, been born as Yuki, he might have had a body similar to his sister's, he asks Miki if he can see her body (though he fails to tell her his reason for the request). He tells Minamo that he envies how well-endowed she is, explaining that his false bosom is "fake" no matter how hard he might wish they were real. When Yoshinori finds one of his photos of Yuki published in a magazine, he becomes upset, not having wanted his hobby shared with the world. Even though no one knows that the photographer and the model are the same person, a small blurb attached to the photo describes the obvious love he must feel for his subject, confusing Yoshinori into thinking he might be in love with Yuki. He asks Minamo to take photos of Yuki, and asks her to wear Yuki's wig; in doing so he upsets her because she realizes that now she ranks not only lower than Hidari, but also his female alter-ego.
Volume seven starts with Yoshinori turning to Hidari; he observes with the regular self-loathing that when things are going poorly with one girl, he turns to the other one. At a girls' soccer tournament, Nori, dressed as Yuki, runs into Wataru, who has a friend on Hidari's team. Yuki promises Hidari if she scores a goal, she'll get a kiss; Wataru promises his friend to get her ice cream if her team wins. Yoshinori is moved by everyone's determination to get better, looking toward the future with clear goals in mind, and resolves to become a better person, worthy of Hidari. In an attempt to help Minamo and Yoshinori make up, Nogi invites them to the beach, with a group of their friends. While there, however, Nori dresses up as Yuki again, before deciding that if he has to pick between Yuki and Minamo, he should pick the latter. He tries to throw Yuki's wig away, but the moment he does he panics and realizes he can't give up dressing as Yuki. Minamo helps him get the wig back, and forgives him for asking her to wear it, even going so far as to put it on and beg him not to leave her. Yoshinori tells her he loves her and they kiss...which of course Hidari happens to see. Yoshinori, however, does not realize she was there.
It is now summer, and volume eight starts with Yoshinori taking Minamo to a festival. Though he considered dressing as Yuki in a yukata, he decided not to, in case it would make Minamo angry. While there, they run into Hidari and Kagami; Hidari brushes Nori off, making him realize that something has changed to change her feelings for him. Upset by Hidari's attitude, he turns to Minamo for emotional support, and she invites him over to her house, which for that evening is empty. However, as they start to enjoy each other's company, Yoshinori bails and leaves, afraid if he were to have sex "as a man" he would lose Yuki somehow. At school, he attracts the attention of the popular girl in the class, Rieko Shiba; meanwhile the school is getting ready for the cultural festival and Nori's class decides on a cross-dressing cafe. Minamo asks Nori to help with the pastries, however, instead of dressing up as a waitress, to which he agrees. Using the event as an excuse, he invites Hidari to come and visit, in the hopes of making up with her. On the day of the cultural festival, Yoshinori starts off taking care of the cakes and pastries, but ultimately cannot help himself and dresses as a waitress to help out Wataru and Kodama (and because he really wanted to crossdress). Just before the festival ended for the day, Hidari finally shows up for a piece of his cake, and they manage to make up again.
Volume nine picks up with Wataru wanting to see Yuki again. Though Minamo agrees to set something up, she urges Yoshinori to tell his best friend the truth. He cannot bring himself to tell Wataru, however, and goes on another date with him as Yuki. While he knows he has to turn Wataru down, Yoshinori can't help but think that pretending to be his girlfriend is kind of nice. As they're walking home, they encounter some drunk young men who choose to pick a fight. One of them slaps Nori's face, so he retaliates and takes two of them out. A third tries to attack with a broken bottle, but Wataru comes in to protect Yuki and gets an injury in his leg. He has an important match coming up, but with his injury is unable to play; when his team starts to lose ground, however, he insists on stepping in, and ends up further hurting himself by playing injured. Nori, knowing the injury was his fault, finally comes clean and reveals Yuki's true identity to Wataru. Surprisingly, Wataru takes this revelation pretty well, though he does find it awkward talking with Yoshinori at first, he continues to have feelings for Yuki, and they manage to remain friends (with occasional cross-dressing benefits). Meanwhile, Nogi is having trouble with her basketball club, as well as unrequited feelings for Kodama. Yoshinori speaks to the other girls on the club giving Nogi a hard time, and so, seeing what a good friend he is, and being privy to his secret of Yuki, Nogi asks Nori to sleep with her. Yoshinori agrees, but only insomuch as he pleasures her, still afraid of giving of his body as a man for fear of losing Yuki. Kodama finds out about the two of them and confronts Nori at school; they fight, and Yoshinori easily wins, but in the end it brings Kodama and Nogi together. The experience reminds Yoshinori that one day he may have to let go of Yuki, so he spends the winter dressing as Yuki and taking pictures, savoring the experience of being a girl and indulging in his confused lust for the "girl" in his photos.
At the end of winter, he meets up with Hidari one day; having dedicated herself to her studies, she has passed her entrance exams and in the spring will be a first year at Yoshinori's high school. Surprising him, Hidari asks Yoshinori to "embrace" her.
Volume ten picks up from this moment with Hidari explaining that what she's really asking is for Nori to have sex with her. Realizing how long he's been waiting for her, Yoshinori suggests they take a graduation trip away together, for the purpose of having alone time together. It is in this moment that Yoshinori finally decides to let Minamo go; he returns her sailor uniform to her and tells her he wants to end the unstable relationship they've been in. Minamo attempts to seduce him, suggesting to Yoshinori that he'll need practice first to make sure he knows what he's doing with Hidari, but he stays firm to his decision and rejects her offer, though also admitting that he still cares deeply for her and wishes he had some way to fix the pain he's causing her. With a final farewell kiss, Yoshinori tells her goodbye.
For her graduation trip, Yoshinori takes Hidari to Kyoto. They spend the day sightseeing, visiting various temples and shrines, before going to a hotel in the evening. Nervous at first, the two of them end up having sex. Later in the evening, however, Yoshinori is awoken by a dream of Yuki, where she congratulates him for becoming a man, and bidding him farewell as he no longer needs her. In his dream, his back is in pain; when Yuki walks away from him, large butterfly wings erupt from his back. Rushing into the bathroom, Yoshinori tries on his Yuki wig, but fails to see "her" in his reflection. Feeling distraught at the idea that he exchanged Yuki for Hidari, when Hidari tries to initiate sex with him in the morning, Nori feels resentment and hate toward her for making him lose Yuki. With a little persuasion, however, Hidari manages to coax his interest again, and he realizes that the person he is truly mad at is not Hidari but himself, for forgetting about Yuki ever since Hidari asked for him.
Unfortunately, he is not given much time to reflect further on this, as
this is where the manga endsa little later that day, he falls to his death.**this part deviates from the manga for the purposes of the game setting.
Yoshinori Ikeda | Yubisaki Milk Tea | Not reserved
Though Yoshinori fell into cross-dressing by accident, he felt freed by the act of becoming another person. He has also expressed the belief that, by dressing up as Yuki, he may learn more about what it means to be a girl that way, and help him understand women better. However, as the series progresses and Yoshinori sees the actions of men toward him when he's Yuki, he has developed a repulsion toward the way men act with women - himself included. Even as he flips back and forth between Minamo and Hidari, and becomes physically more intimate with them as time goes on, he cannot help but feel disgust at his own actions and thoughts, even as he is compelled by his emotions to act in such a way. His perversion and noncommittal attitude seem to especially grate on him. Despite this, Yoshinori knows that he genuinely cares for both girls. His words are not insincere; he does lack the ability to be consistent in his emotions, though. While he thinks that he really likes one girl best, he cannot help but pine for the other.
No matter how he feels for both Minamo and Hidari, there is one person he is unwilling to sacrifice: Yuki. He would be happy to be with either girl, but if they asked him to give up the cross-dressing, he would pick that over them. He has even stated at one point that the cross-dressing is all that he has, that there is nothing else but that. At one point during the story, Yoshinori even thought that he might be in love with Yuki, moreso than even the other two girls. Though he still recognizes his attraction toward Yuki, he understands that she is unattainable, and does his best to forget his narcissistic infatuation.
Although Yoshinori has managed to charm a number of people as Yuki (including his best friend Wataru, who unwittingly fell in love with "her"), as a boy he also displays a similar charisma. Minamo has admitted that Yoshinori charmed her into opening her heart to him, that loving him has turned her into a lewd person. He has also been called a "prince" by another female classmate. He seems mostly oblivious to his effect on people, as either Yoshinori or Yuki, and in this way ends up hurting the people he cares for most in his carelessness. He can also be incredibly selfish, often thinking only of himself and his own feelings. Though he wishes to understand other people, he is actually rather bad at it, so wrapped up in his own desires and worries that he fails to notice how he hurts people until the damage is done. He does genuinely care for others, though, so he will also go out of his way to try to make it up to them later, if he can.
Yoshinori as Yuki is very similar in personality. She is an engaging individual who is unafraid to talk to people or speak her mind. In fact, she is the half of him that he prefers to use to deal with difficult situations, such as after he revealed his identity to Wataru. As Yoshinori he was hesitant to talk with his friend about it, afraid what his reaction would be. However, later on he was able to approach him as Yuki and talk it out with him. It has been said that Yuki is Yoshinori's ideal of what a woman should be like, that she has no "flaws" as most real women do, which is why it seems easier to fall in love with her instead of an actual girl. However, though Yoshinori does idealize Yuki in his mind, she is still in essence him, and as such does display the same careless cruelty as he does. Her mannerisms and styling, however, are quintessentially feminine. Yoshinori is quite vain about his appearance of Yuki, insomuch that he goes out of his way to avoid marring his (and therefore her) appearance. He quit soccer so that he would not have scrapped up knees; he gets very protective of his face, declaring on more than one occasion that he won't allow anyone to mess it up. He was distressed when he thought the presence of an Adam's apple would prevent him from passing as perfectly as he has, or that his height might give himself away. However he managed to get over those obstacles to continue being Yuki. He is also very aware of his beauty when dressed as Yuki, stating it as fact that Yuki is clearly leagues ahead of nearly all the girls in his class (with an exception for Minamo, after whom he modeled most of Yuki's mannerisms).
Though throughout the story various of his friends and classmates learn of the connection between Yoshinori and Yuki (i.e. that Yoshinori enjoys cross-dressing), it has never been something he has gone out of his way to reveal (save with Hidari, and eventually Wataru, as apology for hurting them). Ideally, when Yoshinori is Yuki, he is essentially another person; unless the person with whom he is interacting knows of both identities, he acts as though they are separate people. On occasion he does forget himself and blurs the line between what Yoshinori does and what Yuki does, but on the whole he does not.
One reason why Yoshinori may have issues confronting his emotions head-on could be related to his family situation: throughout the series it is shown that he lives alone with his older sister. The presence of their parents is distinctly lacking, though they are shown once or twice. It is mentioned in passing that Yoshinori's father was unfaithful to his mother, who quietly bore the infidelity before they finally separated years later. Yoshinori is never shown interacting with his father, only visiting with his mother once, with whom he goes shopping for clothes (allegedly for Miki but in truth for Yuki). It is possible that, having seen his father's behavior and lack of respect toward his mother, Yoshinori's hatred of men has been with him for far longer than he was aware. However, it also shows that, while Yoshinori may wish to be different than his unfaithful father, he is in many ways spiraling down a similar path, showing himself incapable of staying truly faithful to one girl or another.
Though Yoshinori claims to love, envy, and respect girls, so much so that he's often expressed the opinion that women are superior to men in his idolization of them, his actions often contradict this belief. He claims to love both Hidari and Minamo, naming them each as his most important person, and yet when it comes to choosing one over the other, or either over Yuki, he is unable to do so. He says he respects women, but the way in which he swings from one to the other as the situation best fits him shows he doesn't have a clear understanding of what it means to respect them. He is also incredibly jealous of them, one minute wishing to show them off, the next realizing that he does not want to share his view of them with anyone else. With Minamo, he jealously protects his status as the only person to see her as beautiful, loose, and sexy; when he suggests her as a model to Kodama, he immediately regrets the decision, afraid Kodama will see in her the beauty he saw and brought out. This jealousy extends to Yuki as well; though he's taken hundreds of photos dressed as Yuki, he has never shared them with anyone. When he saw his photo submitted to the magazine photo contest, he became upset as he had not wanted others to see her.
Yoshinori states on a number of occasions that he doesn't believe he actually wants to become a girl/Yuki. When he crossdresses as her, he is still aware of the fact that he is a boy underneath, and he believes that his actions even while dressed as Yuki are those of a boy (i.e. the fact that he's only interested in girls). He tends to visualize Yuki as the girl he might have been, had he been born that way, though is reluctant to think he actually wants that for himself.
However, he also sees certain masculine actions and/or traits as threats to Yuki's "existence"; that is, when he started to show signs of puberty, he was afraid he would lose the ability to dress as Yuki, and that he might even lose her. Likewise, the fact that he actively resists having sex is directly motivated by the fear that Yuki will "leave"; that he will be able to dress as her and still be believable to himself. In fact, in volume ten, Yoshinori does have sex with Hidari; immediately afterward he visualizes Yuki abandoning him, and panics at the thought that he's sacrificed her by becoming a man with Hidari.
Typically, though, when Yoshinori, dressed as Yuki, interacts with people that are unaware of the crossdressing, he puts on an act, as though she is a separate person from himself; that is, he doesn't actively go around telling people that he's a boy underneath but allows them to assume he's female. And even when he is with people who know about Yuki, the fact that he chooses more often to interact with them as Yuki, using her voice and mannerisms, suggests that he is more comfortable socially as Yuki than as Yoshinori.
IN GLIE: One of the most prominent differences in Yoshinori's personality will be that he will start off having a more difficult time expressing himself socially with others. Without the memory of Yuki or the facade through which he often interacts with the world, he will feel at a loss as to how to truly connect with others. This isn't to say that he will lack the ability to connect at all, but rather that through Yuki he was often more honest and upfront with his emotions, doing and saying things that felt truer to himself than when he presented as a male.
As a result, he will have the sense that something is missing, and through his interactions with others will need to figure out what that is. Whether this will lead him back to rediscovering his alter-ego or simply force him to become a more honest and straightforward person as himself will remain to be seen.
On the other hand, without Yuki, Yoshinori will be more apt to participate in physical activities, something he avoided so as to maintain his appearance. Lacking a reason to do so, he may find himself becoming a more active person again, with a more mild reaction to potential injury to his person.
Powers: Yoshinori has no supernatural abilities, however he does have some areas in which he is quite skilled. He works part time at a photo shop and often takes a camera out to do photo shoots of himself as Yuki. He knows how to use a dark room, and his photos have often gotten attention from professionals, even winning an amateur photographer contest in a magazine.
He can cook pretty well, as he is often the one to cook for himself and his sister. He also can bake a number of different cakes and pastries, as demonstrated at the school's culture festival.
In junior high, Yoshinori was on the soccer team and was reportedly quite good. On more than one occasion Wataru remarks that Yoshinori was the best player he knew, and that he's striving to reach his level. Even without practice, Yoshinori still has a powerful kick, which he used to take out a pair of thugs.
He's also got the ability to pass as a believable female. He was able to adapt feminine mannerisms and imitate them in a believable way, showing he has a skill at observing others. He also knows how to apply makeup and style himself; he is very aware of what sorts of clothing and styles flatter him or not.

Dream: The crunch of snow is a harsh, biting sound in the void of silent white enveloping him. His eyes must be blind for all the shifting white surrounding him. And yet, as he glances down to the ground, his bare feet stand out, sunken into the cold blank earth beneath him. It is as he registers his bare feet that the rest of his body falls into place; naked and vulnerable, with nothing but snowy flakes to cover him.
The snow continues to fall, its icy burn like a blanket against his skin. He wraps his arms around his chest and begins to walk into the silent void. The crunch of snow as it yields beneath his feet continues to follow him, slow as his steps, until even that sound seems to fade into the wintry scene.
He walks and walks, until he can no longer remember whether the snow against his back is cold or searing hot. He loses sense of his body again, until he feels like he is floating, a tiny gust of wind lost within the storm.
His feet stop moving. At first he thinks they must have forgotten what it means to move at all, but then he understands - the earth beneath him no longer gives against his steps, but pushes back with an uncertain strength. He glances back down, only to see an indistinct face staring back at him.
Carefully, he drops to his knees, bending his head down until his nose presses against the ice. Yet through the ice the face staring back at him remains unclear, blurred as though made that way. Only their long bright hair shines out, a brilliant and startling flash of color in this world of white.
It's just as he takes notice of their hair that he feels his own tickle the back of his neck. The next moment, his hair drops against his shoulders, a silken softness so startling that his hands, bracing against the ice, slip away and he slams his face against the cold ground.
Or does it? For it feels like falling and flying all in an instant, and there is no ice against his bare knees, but a numbing, welcome, warmth hugging him, pulling gently at him, pulling him away...
His eyes snap back open and he realizes he's sinking down...down...down... Down into a black sea, pressing in on him like a possessive grip. Above him, falling further and further away now, is the barest glimpse of that blinding blank world, and a shock of pink hair watching him descend.
Trial: Yoshinori's trial will be to learn to accept himself for who is. Part of this trial is that at the point when he died, he couldn't really say he knew who that was. A large part of his trial, therefore, will also simply revolve around the fact that he was a young man with many things left in his life with which he had to contend and requires this extra time to work through them.
Of course, a large part of this will involve Yoshinori figuring out what exactly Yuki was to him; whether dressing up and pretending to be a woman was merely a hobby like he claimed, or his way of expressing another desire. Whether or not he decides that Yuki is the person he wishes to be (that is, whether he arrives at the idea that he is more comfortable as a female than a male) remains to be seen; in terms of development, I would like to leave this option open, but it is not a forgone conclusion that that is the direction Yoshinori will go.
Depending on the manner and order of his memory regains, Yoshinori may not remember cross-dressing for awhile. Either way, however, he will feel a sense that something about him is missing, and he will have to find a way to function without it. This means that, if he develops well, he should find a way to be honest with himself and with others without using Yuki as the vehicle through which he interacts. If, on the other hand, he doesn't find a way to do this, but feels that without this missing thing he is unable to express himself truthfully, he will fall back on his flawed habits and may search for a way to express himself as before (i.e. through another "mask" or "facade", such as the way in which he often used Yuki).
In short, if he continues to use Yuki without fully accepting her as being one and the same as himself, he will be unable to complete his trial. If, on the other hand, he either accepts that Yuki is who he wishes to be, or conversely admits that he used Yuki solely as a way to shield himself from the world and that he is comfortable being Yoshinori all the time, he will have accepted all of himself.

The time they all went to the beach part 1
He told Hidari the truth about Yuki
RP sample: For the past month, there had been nothing but snow. Every time Yuki looked out the window of his room, the cold white world was there to greet him. If it weren't for some inherent sense that there was such a thing as summer, he might have been inclined to believe that winter was merely the world's natural, unchanging, state. And though he had slowly become used to the cold weather, there were still days when he found himself overcome by the snowy scene; after all, his first and most bitter memory in this world was one of a harsh and biting snowstorm. Sometimes, when he closed his eyes, he could still feel its burn against his back, right where his wings sprouted between his shoulder blades.
But most days he suffered the snow well enough. Procuring an odd assortment of used clothing, Yuki had managed to keep the cold well enough at bay. Well, for the most part, that was. Beggers couldn't be choosers, and a few items of clothing seemed...ill-suited for a young man. Whether it was by mistake or some bizarre compulsion, Yuki had managed to procure a full-length dress. Its long sleeves and full skirt suggested it would be appropriate attire for the weather; its once-yellow (now brownish) color and patched state certainly didn't make it seem too frivolous an item to wear, and yet... Something about the idea of wearing a dress had given Yuki pause enough to avoid trying it on thus far. Still, he couldn't find the heart to be rid of it either.
But now it had come to this. Yuki had a day off from work, the perfect chance to catch up on chores. He had already tidied what little he had in his small abode, swept the floor and cleaned the windows. All that was left was to clean his clothes - and the only article left to wear was the dress. On the one hand... But on the other, it was only practical to wash everything he could.
Staring at himself in the mirror, Yuki made a face at his reflection. The way he looked, could there be any mistake but that he was a boy in a dress? With a sigh, he bundled up the rest of his clothes and, peering out his door to check that the hall was empty, he hurried out. If he could complete his task without being spotted, so much the better.

Orlando Gardiner | Otherland (unreserved)
Name: Orly
Age: 27
Contact: agreylady[at]gmail[dot]com or ElspethVimes on plurk
Current characters: none
CHARACTER INFORMATION
True name: Orlando Gardiner
Given name: Gold. It refers to the city he's trying to reach in his dream (itself a reference to canon). It also relates to his trial, in that Orlando needs to realize that he, just as himself, is someone of worth.
Canon: Otherland
Canonpoint: The fight in the temple of Ra in book three, Mountain of Black Glass. Instead of having (another) near death experience, Orlando will die here.
History:
Orlando is the son of Vivien and Conrad Gardiner, a well-meaning and well-off California couple. In a cruel trick of genetics, Orlando born with progeria, and had major health issues from the start. When he was very young, his parents made sure to give him some normal experiences, visiting the zoo, having relatives over. But as he got older and sicker, this became much harder, and all the Gardiners became pretty cut off from the world. They moved from the city proper to the walled-off, upscale community of Crown Heights, and even Orlando's contact with other sick children he had met at the hospital dwindled away to nothing. Orlando never attended regular school, but went to netschool online. He was greatly respected for his intelligence by teachers and students, but never really had any friends there. While he received regular offers from IT companies willing to pay his way through college in return for a few years of work, he never accepted any such offer, well aware of the fact that the odds of him living long enough to graduate from college were almost nonexistent.
When he was younger, his mother read him fantasy books, and he went on to read more on his own, finding a great deal of meaning and inspiration in them. From reading fantasy and his interest in virtual reality, he got into gaming. In the Middle Country simworld, he spent years as the top-ranked character, Thargor. In the game he teamed up with the thief character Pithlit, and became friends with the player, Sam Fredericks, out of the game. They lived across the country from each other, and so never met offline, but Orlando for years considered Fredericks to be his only real friend. This belief was a little shaken when Orlando discovered that Sam is, contrary to some online presentation, a girl, but the two got through that. Uncomfortable with the possible implications, he never told Fredericks about his illness until he felt he had to in order to explain his own behavior.
One day, while in the Middle Country, Orlando saw the most completely convincing bit of VR he had ever encountered appear as a sort of window in one of the dungeons. Determined to find out what it was, he eventually got to the source, bringing Sam along. Once in the Otherland system, he and a number of others who had found and followed up on clues like the one Orlando had seen were directed by the mysterious Mr. Sellers to help undermine the Grail Brotherhood, a group of remarkably powerful people who had created Otherland, from inside their network, hopefully freeing the children who had gone into comas as a result of contact with the network and stopping evil people from ruling the net as well as the real world. Orlando and Sam were split from the group early on, following their own path of investigation. In a simulation like Toy Story for kitchen appliances, they had their own encounter with one of the system's significant mysteries. In a simulated version of ancient Egypt where the gods were real (and, in some cases, diverged notably from the real mythology), they met members of the Circle, another group fighting against the Brotherhood. Having infiltrated the system earlier, some members of the Circle had also ended up trapped, a situation made worse by the minor civil war that had erupted in virtual Egypt. It's from this point in the story that I would be taking Orlando.
Personality:
Orlando is likely to first come across as withdrawn and cynical, by means of his mix of polite distance and sarcastic comments. Those who come to know him better might come to describe him as a person with a mature view of the world but who hasn't entirely stopped being a child.
Orlando is both highly intelligent and very observant, whether he's researching new advances in programming or noting the effects of class inequality. It's not just book smarts either, he's good at thinking on his feet and can find some creative solutions to problems. With very few exceptions, Orlando likes to know about things. He's the kind of guy who will see something odd out of his window and afterwards spend days researching the phenomenon and things related to it. He likes to think he has few illusions about the world, and in some ways he's right. He's prone to cynicism, most often expressed in the form of sarcasm. He's more aware of how difficult and dangerous life is for many people than a kid who has been so isolated might be. But in spite of this, he is, at heart, deeply idealistic. He genuinely believes people can and should change things for the better, that humanity in general does have a hope, and that ordinary people can be heroes. (Heroes, he once told Sam, are the people who persevere and do the right thing, not the people who kill the most bad guys.) The world may be a pretty unpleasant place, but he doesn't want it to be like that, and he's sure that most other people feel the same way. Perhaps from all the fantasy, or perhaps because he simply needed something to believe in, Orlando developed something of a romantic streak. He makes note of heroic actions (which can mean either saving the world from evil overlords or helping orphaned kids). And he really wants to be heroic himself.
It's not exactly easy for him to be around people, though. Orlando was strongly influenced both by experiences of people judging (and pitying) him based on his illness, and by a desire to appear strong in spite of his illness. He tends not to trust people to care much beyond surface appearances, and doesn't really open up as a result. He has no problem lying to people to avoid awkward situations, though over the course of the series he becomes less likely to. It must also be noted that he will often be perfectly content not to find out anything more about a person than is obvious- if they don't care enough to tell him, he doesn't care either. While he has become more willing to open up, Orlando's default state when dealing with people still tends to be either “polite, intelligent, young man” or “sarcastic geek,” depending on the circumstances. Distance is easier, and stands less of a chance of hurting him. He'd rather make less of an impression than be judged as somehow lacking.
He's stubborn and proud. If he wants to do something, he wants to do it well. He wants to be the best if he can. And he'll keep trying, loosing himself in the pursuit of a goal to the extent that he neglects other (possibly more important) concerns. Sure, he almost failed that midterm because he was focusing on beating a monster in a game, but he beat that monster when no one else did. He likes having accomplishments to define himself by. He'll argue for something he believes in until he falls over (literally). He is also extremely reluctant to admit that his opinion might be the wrong one. It can take him a little too long for him to change his mind. But once he does, he won't make an issue of the matter again.
Orlando has a strong sense of humor. For the most part, it's tilted very heavily towards the sarcastic, and can come out in morbid ways. But he has a good appreciation for both wit and absurdism. He may tend mostly towards quips and deadpan remarks, but he also loves it when other people give him a chance to just be goofy.
The things he fears most are failure and loss. These have been constantly present or hovering over him all his life, and when they occur they hurt both him and others. He'll fight against them as long as he's able. He tries to get used to the idea when he can't (see: his frequent use of VR "death trips"). He tries to take control and act mature whenever he possibly can (and one or two times when he shouldn't). Since it's rare that he really allows himself connections, absence can hit him hard.
As a Haibane:
With a completely healthy body, and without the memory of being sick, Orlando is going to be a lot more cheerful than his canon self. He'll still be sarcastic (he's still a teenager), and he'll still have an eye for picking out injustices, but he won't be bitter. He won't really have any basis for cynicism, at least not when he starts out. As a Haibane, Orlando's idealism will combine with the general comfort of his surroundings to create an optimistic person. More importantly, he'll be a lot more outgoing. Without the fear that people are going to be pitying or judging him (or the need to lie about his actual life and condition), Orlando will be more open and willing to engage people. He won't be a big extrovert, but he will be fairly friendly.
Alas, this also means he won't be cracking morbid jokes.
As he regains memories and becomes more unsure of himself, though, he's likely to start putting people at a distance again. He won't want others to think that there might be something wrong about him. He'll get more snappish and sarcastic, as well.
Powers: None.
Memory bank: here!
Note: a good number of Orlando's memories will take place in virtual reality. I intend to take full advantage of the confusion this could cause.
Job: shelver/general help at the library
Dream:
Orlando begins the dream in a valley. It's a pleasant place- open and lush, with a small river running down the middle of it. But it's nothing compared to the beauty of the city that stands atop one of the mountains surrounding the valley. The city is full of dizzying spires connected by sweeping arches, all the buildings decorated with intricate carvings. But most notably, everything in it looks to be made of gold.
He picks up a sword he finds next to him and begins the climb up to the city. There's no road, but that doesn't deter him, even as the going gets steadily more difficult. As the mountain grows steeper, he uses the sword make the climb easier. He's so focused on the ground in front of him that it takes him a good while to realize that he's become stuck, a little over halfway up the mountain. While he's definitely climbing over rocks and up near-vertical stretches of grass, he's not actually getting any closer to the city. He tries to climb more quickly, as if he just needs to overcome a certain amount of inertia, but the city remains that exact distance away.
He doesn't know if he wants to scream or slash something with the sword or sit down and cry. He doesn't get to figure it out- instead, he wakes up.
Trial:
Orlando wants to be a hero. To be the knight in shining armor. To do something huge and important in his very limited time. This is born partly out of his idealism, but it also comes from a deep fear that nothing else matters enough. That without doing anything grand, he'll end up worthless and forgotten.
His trial will be to accept that what he does, in the normal course of things, is enough. He needs to recognize that he can have a positive impact on other people's lives just by being a decent, helpful person. It may not be a dramatic impact, but it's still a worthwhile one. And it's still one that will result in being valued when he's there, and remembered when he moves on.

RP sample:
Sometimes, when he wandered the stacks in the library, he found it hard to shake the idea that he was looking for something in particular. He didn't know what, of course, but that didn't stop the nagging feeling that as interesting as the books about Glie could be, as enjoyable as the occasional adventure story was, there was something that meant more to him. Maybe even something that would piece together his life before he became a Haibane.
Of course, it might just be because he liked reading. It felt natural, settling into a book. It made sense that he'd extend that into the idea that books were important to him. It was easy to ascribe particular significance to something when you didn't have much to reflect on.
In any case, he still had a job to do. Alright, The Benefits of Wind Power, TE468. Technology's a row over. Turning the corner, he nearly ran into a patron.
"Oh, sorry. Can I help you with anything?"

Conan Edogawa | Detective Conan | Reserved
Name: Alice
Age: 18+
Contact: PM this account
Current characters: N/A
CHARACTER INFORMATION
True name: Conan Edogawa (actually Shinichi Kudo)
Given name: Neuro; taken from the Greek word nevróspastos - meaning puppet or "string-pulling". Due to Conan's nature and occupation of pulling strings in the background and constantly having to lie to people he cares for, it is a fitting name.
Canon: Detective Conan
Canonpoint: after chapter 434; Vermouth's sleeping gas knocks him out. We'll assume he never woke up after that.
History: ( SHINICHI WIKI | CONAN WIKI | CANON TIMELINE )
no subject
Personality: To Shinichi, knowledge is power.
He will constantly seek it, soak it up like a sponge, then proudly display it in front of an audience. This disposition has been around even as early as his preschool years, due the familial influence of his father Yusaku Kudo, mystery writer and occasional crime solving extraordinaire. Some way or another, Shinichi found the process of deduction fascinating and decided to also follow the same path as Yusaku and iconic fictional detective, Sherlock Holmes - whom he idolized greatly.
Thus not a moment passes where Shinichi's not naturally attentive to his surroundings, often finding himself observing the people around him, regardless of their existent or non-existent relation to him. This comes in handy during impromptu cases, which is always, as they seem to follow him wherever he goes. Due to this and his ability to stay calm and break down unseen crime scenarios, Shinichi became revered as a famous high school detective. He'd solved numerous cases which had stumped the police and they took him for every word, which unfortunately, got to his head.
But before his inevitable pride before the fall narrative, and despite his background, Shinichi was always just a normal high schooler. Despite the person himself often forgetting this fact. Though a diligent attendant, he found the experience quite boring and unchallenging, sometimes preferring to skip to prioritize a case. But being a physically active teenager suited him well in the environment, as he would often participate in school soccer team activities. And due to his friendly social nature (and his reputation didn't hurt either), Shinichi was a hit at any school he went to. It seemed he was rarely ever disliked, though no one could ever get close to where his head was in the clouds. Thus, Shinichi has no true close friends save for Ran Mouri - childhood friend, who always manages to bring him down to earth.
The change to Conan Edogawa, to a mere child, is nothing short of a life changing experience to Shinichi. While he could afford an arrogant attitude with his famous teenage reputation, as a child he'd be admonished and ignored. Feeling his freedom stripped away from him, Conan struggled to compromise with himself. He sought a way around his problems, crushed at how insignificant he seemed. He looked down on people who couldn't deduce cases like he could, a quality of his that never quite changes throughout the series. It is here where his situation becomes morally complex. On one hand, he still solves numerous cases and brings the right culprit to justice. On the other, Conan has to secretly tranquilize and assume a person's identity to do it. The main victim being Ran's father, Kogoro Mouri. Whether it's a necessary move is debatable, but Conan could just be that desperate to do it every time.
Because for the first time in his life, Shinichi learns fear. He fears his true identity being outed to the people who shrunk him, and he fears they'll come to take his life, including people he cares for. This triggers the start of his lying streak and he attempts to hide the truth from as many people as he can. While unsuccessful at times, he has been deemed a mastermind by a select few, Tooru Amuro in particular, describing him as a cat hiding his claws. Conan also uses his inherited acting skills to manipulate certain perpetrators into revealing their own crime. While this gets the job done, how other people react to his actions is dubious at best. For as much as Conan deeply loves and cares for the people around him, it's no hidden fact that mysteries excite him more. Not knowing something frustrates him, but also exhilarates. Once he has his mind on the prize, he will often ignore anyone around him to track it down. This ends up throwing Shinichi into a cycle of continuous regret - wishing to come clean with the rest of the world but not wanting to neglect his second nature.
When Conan's not off solving the daily murder, he sucks up his pride to masquerade as a seemingly normal six year old child. And while he pretty much has no idea what an average child acts like, he does assume his normal teenager self around his elementary classmates. They're moments where he quite possibly feels most comfortable, as he struggles not to lose his grip on his Shinichi Kudo persona.
--
In Haibane, Shinichi will not remember feeling the constant looming threat of the Black Organization. He will not fear dying (suspects he might've died anyway) and thus will feel no need to resume the Conan Edogawa charade. His attitude will be that of Shinichi Kudo prior to being de-aged, but with the subtle implications of his growth as Conan. His child appearance will undoubtedly confuse him however, and he will feel uncomfortable in his own body. Seeing as his finely aged mentality is mismatched with his physical age, Shinichi will naturally be frustrated as hell. He hates not knowing anything and will try his dang hardest to find out who he is. It's the lowest level of hell there is - body dysphoria inception.

Ciel Phantomhive - Kuroshitsuji - Unreserved
Name: Christy
Age: 24
Contact:
Current characters: n/a
CHARACTER INFORMATION
True name: Ciel Phantomhive
Given name: Corbin — The name is composed of the parts corb, "crow, raven," and a diminutive suffix, hence "little crow," like from his dream.
Canon: Kuroshitsuji
Canonpoint: Chapter 95 — Sebastian declares that Ciel has broken their contract and starts to eat him as an attempt to "wake him up" from the sort of regressed state that he was in at the time. In canon, this leads to a dreamscape where he ends up confronting his guilt and issues (poorly), but ultimately wakes up. However, for the game, Sebastian really does eat Ciel, since he was 90% serious about it. Thanks, Sebastian.
History: Here
no subject
In Canon:
In the classic Faustian legend, the scholar Faust trades his soul for knowledge and worldly pleasures. On the surface, Faust has everything he ever wanted, but as the story progresses, he also gradually realizes at just what a great cost all of this comes at, and also how having this wishes granted didn't bring the happiness he had hoped for. The Faustian legend is influential, to say the least, and this influence even extends to Kuroshitsuji, which is simply another telling of the Faustian story. In Kuroshitsuji, however, Ciel is the Faust analogue, and yet, is not a scholar who trades his soul for knowledge, but instead, a young boy that trades his soul for the power to save his own life.
After his family was killed and his home burned to the ground, Ciel was kidnapped and sold to the black market, only to be bought by a cult for the purpose of being sacrificed to summon a demon. This was successful, obviously, since Sebastian was summoned and contracted to Ciel, and yet, there’s an ambiguity there. Recent chapters as well as going back and looking at old clues imply that Ciel is, in fact, a twin, and it was his twin brother that was truly sacrificed, and Ciel was the one that lived to make a contract with Sebastian. However, this is complicated further, since it’s also implied that Ciel isn’t really Ciel at all—That is, the boy that was sacrificed was the one named Ciel, and “Ciel” (whose real name is still unknown) stole his name for the sake of being able to inherit his title as the Earl of Phantomhive.
This event is undoubtedly the event that has impacted Ciel the most, leaving him traumatized and with a severe case of PTSD, but also with a heavy dose of survivor’s guilt to go along with it. Though Ciel has healed in the time since he returned, he’s still plagued by nightmares and triggered by certain things (essentially, anything that reminds him of being imprisoned or the day of sacrifice), and it’s very messy. Ciel responds to his fear with violence, since Ciel has a very harsh personality. For example, after a nightmare, he points a gun at Sebastian’s head fully intending to shoot, or on the more extreme end, a severe episode spurns Ciel to have Sebastian not only kill multiple people, but to set a building with children in it on fire.
And this, in a sense, represents the very worst parts of Ciel’s personality. He’s harsh, selfish, and unforgiving, though he is aware of these parts of his personality. His experiences have hardened and tempered him, making him a rather cruel person who is willing to kill people for the sake of either protecting his own life or for the sake of his end goal of revenge. He’s often blinded by his own biases, and once he has his mind set to something, it can be very difficult to change his viewpoints. He also tends to keep people at arm’s length, not wanting people to get close to him at all, so overall, this makes him seem like a very bad person, to put it simply.
And yet, like Faust, Ciel is a tragic hero of the story, because these flaws are hardly all he is.
Despite that ruthless sort of darkness in his heart born from his experiences, Ciel’s major personality trait that most people comment on first is his nobility. This is why Sebastian is especially fixated on Ciel’s soul, for example, since Ciel apparently possesses an extraordinary quality of it. Ciel may be cold and distant, but it’s not without reason—He tends to prefer keeping people at a distance because he knows his time is limited, so he’s so wholly focused on his goal that he doesn’t want to bring more people down with him. Yet despite that, Ciel can be incredibly generous and kind, such as offering outcasts of society (such as an escaped human experimentation subject) a place amongst the staff of his manor, even if they have no skills for serving whatsoever. He’s thoughtful and protective towards his fiancée Lizzie, often doing his best even at things he hates for the sake of making her happy. Ciel also has a great quality of presence and charisma, being able to speak to peoples’ hearts with ease despite his age, and truly gives the impression of wisdom and grace beyond his years at times. He’s intelligent, wise, and just overall surprisingly charming when he wants to be.
It’s also important to remember that despite his insistence otherwise, he’s also very much a thirteen year old boy, and a spoiled one, at that. Even with the hardships in his life, Ciel has spent most of his life waited on hand and foot, and expects nothing less than perfection from those around him. So, to put it simply, he’s a brat. He doesn’t know basic skills even such as dressing himself, having relied on servants to do such things, and yet will still have sarcastic comments for anyone that chooses to insult him. He’s also incredibly petty, enacting small schemes of revenge against those that have wronged him, from pouring hot tea on Sebastian’s hands for mocking him to a scheme to ruin a classmate’s reputation that had embarrassed him. It’s moments like these where Ciel’s age shines the most, since he’s prone to tantrums, getting flustered, and just generally showing a sour disposition in a way that’s not at all threatening like he hopes.
Overall, Ciel is the tragic Faustian hero, only made more tragic by his young age. He’s stuck in a situation he can’t escape from, slowly marching towards his death while doing reprehensible things along the way, and yet, Ciel does have a great strength of character. Despite the terrible things he’s experienced and done, Ciel’s resolve very rarely wavers. He knows that what he’s doing is wrong, and he does care a lot about that, though he would say otherwise, but he believes that even so, it’s the only path he can take to continue forward. He’s noble in appearance and personality, being friendly, if distant, which makes his situation all the more tragic. Ciel could grow up to be a great nobleman that would touch many peoples’ lives, since he has already, and yet, so long as Sebastian is there, he won’t get the chance.
In Game:
One primary difference would be in how he approaches other people. Ciel will absolutely still be conniving, but this won't be true in his actual relationships with people he meets. One of the reasons that Ciel is so closed off is that most of the people that he's met since he contracted with Sebastian have been under false pretences. It's either very basic, since he's technically presenting himself as someone else, or it's having to do with his work, such as in the Cricket arc. Ciel is almost always lying to others in canon about who he is and why he's coming to visit them. In the game, he won't have these reasonings, and as such, he'll be more honest with how he relates to others than he might be ordinarily. So for example, Ciel is absolutely willing to play at being a cute, unassuming boy of his age when it suits him in canon, but in game, he'll never have that sort of reasoning. Essentially, he won't be quite as manipulative in how he deals with others.
Another difference would be that that Ciel's temper won't be quite as bad, because many of the instances of his anger in canon are inspired directly by things he faced. Instead of a true, occasionally vicious anger that he would show, his anger in game would largely be outbursts that aren't quite as serious in nature. He'd be much less likely to get beyond huffy anger until he received and accepted (which will be difficult for him) some of his memories that would make him have that kind of anger.
Finally, his traumas will be lessened quite a lot, since they're all based in his history, which he won't remember, obviously! Since Ciel is triggered quite a few times throughout the series, this is far less likely to happen. His triggers may make him anxious and uncomfortable in the game, but they won't lead to full-blown breakdowns (at least until he might get some of those memories back).
Powers:
None! Ciel is a perfectly ordinary 13-almost-14 year old boy. He does have a curse in his right eye, but it gives him no powers whatsoever.

CHARACTER INFORMATION
True name: Jim Macken / Alois Trancy
Given name: Rian, like "Ryan," from O'Riain, an Irish surname that means "little king." Alois' cocoon dream features being constantly addressed as "Your Highness," so the name is quite literal - the tone with which he's referred to as royalty is also largely facetious but not immediately detectable as such to him, so the "little" part of "little king" stands in for that light condescension.
Canon: Kuroshitsuji II
Canonpoint: End of series; technically Alois dies several episodes prior to the end of the series, when Claude crushes his skull, but his soul is merged with and later awoken in Ciel Phantomhive's body where he's able to fight Ciel for control. At the actual end of the series, Alois' soul pops out of Ciel's body before Ciel can become a demon, and is presumably eaten by/held within Hannah. Then the entire Trancy household (or: Hannah plus souls, and Claude's corpse) is left to perish at once in a giant whirlpool, so he can be considered actually properly dead at this point.

The manipulation is a real thing, though. Alois is a young man with a lot of anger inside him, and he never seems satisfied when he acts out. Losing his parents young and being reduced to a mistreated thief thereafter did not exactly warm him to other people, and instead he spent an indeterminate amount of time firmly believing that people who mistreated him (and his little brother) should be annihilated. Not just have a run-in with karma, but really and truly annihilated. He goes so far as to smash the medicine he stole from a sick old man after his brother tells him that someone else hurt him, demonstrating that he also views "people who mistreat me and my loved ones" as one unit. This is a pretty understandable mindset for a young child, who may not understand the proper way to react to conflict, but since Alois went from poor child thief to losing the only person left that he loved to being kidnapped into sexual slavery, it's not surprising that he never grew out of the mindset.
His world is black and white, in that way: either you're with him or against him, and to be with him is to love him, wholly, without distraction or judgement. Because he thinks of people in this cut-and-dry way, the fact that he very easily manipulates people is a logical result. He lacks empathy almost entirely, and is willing to do anything to get what he wants. He also acts out cruelly in moments where he knows he's being manipulated or mistreated in some way; when his "uncle" comes by to hear about his miraculous return to fortune (which Alois knows is the man's only real concern), he literally throws bank notes off a balcony to watch the man scramble for them on the ground below. And he laughs about it, because for all of a few minutes, it's a great time.
There is a reason that, even when Alois appears to be enthused or entertained by something, it ends very quickly, and that is another part of his anger problem. Going from overtly provocative and touchy-feely to furious and physically violent in 0.5 seconds is not indicative of a stable mind, exactly. He's so full of resentment and has spent so long being unhappy that he doesn't have much genuine happiness left in him. Things that make him truly happy are either cruel things or unhealthy things, and the result is that he's very quick to move on from one thing to the next without much care. What he can maintain is a grudge, and for ages. Beneath the laughing and dancing is a genuine desire to hurt that which has hurt him; it's heavily implied that he had his trusty demon butler Claude kill the previous Earl Trancy after enduring his abuse, and basically the entire series is dedicated to Alois' quest to destroy the demon who killed his younger brother. He believes, because of Claude, that this demon is Sebastian Michaelis, and so begins his quest to ruin his demon life by aiming for Ciel Phantomhive. The idea is that if Ciel is "his," Sebastian won't be able to consume his soul, and it will really, really piss him off. The fact that it's Ciel isn't actually anything personal - he's pretty ambivalent about Ciel, on the few occasions Ciel isn't trying to murder him! It's all about ruining the things that ruined him.
In this respect, Alois is actually somewhat cunning. The biggest indicator of this isn't revealed until the end of the series - at which point Alois' body is dead, his soul is contained in Ciel's body, and Claude and Sebastian are both trying to get him the hell out of there so they can nerd fight over who gets to eat Ciel. Alois, feeling now that he has been as wholly betrayed by Claude as he possibly can be and still wanting to piss off Sebastian, orchestrates a gambit (via second contract with demon maid Hannah) that will end in his proper death and Ciel becoming a demon. This effectively traps Sebastian in Ciel's servitude forever with no payoff, because a demon can't consume a soul that isn't human. To the very end, Alois is super, super set on giving a big middle finger to everyone who's ever hurt him.
Which leads us to the instability! As Alois is very, very easily hurt. Yet again a result of his (lack of) upbringing, the harsh treatment and abuse he suffered, and the frequent traumatic loss of people he loved, he is not exactly a contender for confident boy of the year. He has a paralyzing fear of being left alone that causes him to (attempt to) rule all of his interpersonal relationships with an iron fist. He threatens punishment to all of his demon servants if they displease him and most often deals out punishment, both physical and psychological, to the maid Hannah. He just doesn't know how to function in a healthy relationship, and when he loses the control of it he breaks down- see: begging for his life after Ciel hurts him in their duel, and immediately after begging for Claude's help and subsequent attention when Claude, uh, becomes Ciel-crazy and ignores him vomiting blood on the floor. Extreme cases, obviously, because of the stab wounds, but his entire relationship with Hannah for nearly the whole series is an exercise in hurting someone he knows won't fight back, because clearly treating her kindly would be disastrous.
The thing that drives Alois more than his urge to ruin ruiners' lives is his desperate desire to be loved. After everything he loves is taken from him abruptly and permanently, his idea of what love is and what it means to love and be loved become pretty warped. He acts overly affectionate and familiar with just about anybody, if the mood strikes, but the object of his deeply misguided affections is Claude. Who is a demon. Who doesn't have feelings. Who wants to eat his soul, until he decides he doesn't. Alois adores Claude. He wants Claude's attention and approval - and often tries to get reactions out of him, so much that Claude actually smiling is the thing that tips him off that something is Wrong. In Alois' eyes, Claude understands him better than anyone, and even after Claude changes the game and decides he'd rather have someone else's soul (and crushes Alois' skull in his hands), Alois still tells him that Claude is the most important thing in his life. He so desperately needs Claude that he is willing to knowingly live a lie, if it means Claude will pretend to give a shit about him.
In the end Claude doesn't give a shit, maybe, and Hannah is the one who understands Alois and loves him because his dead brother's soul is inside her. Yeah. Alois, desperate and needy as he is, immediately accepts her love and story as truth, because he just needs someone to tell him they love him.
Finally, there is a tiny, tiny part of Alois that is an incredibly sad but also naive little kid. He tries to cremate a butterfly, for heaven's sake. He also thinks that saying "I'll leave you alone and apologize" is a compelling argument for why Ciel should spare his life, after antagonizing him and overtly trying to kill him and harass his butler. It's a problem.
Overall, Alois is a lonely boy wrapped in anger encased in a kaleidoscope of off-the-wall antics and inappropriate behavior.
In-Game Differences
Not many! He's still going to be prickly and rude because that's his natural defense mechanism for when he finds himself alone and confused - which he will be upon waking with no memory! Since his trial relates to his interactions with other people, his general neediness and desire to be appreciated/loved won't change, but will manifest with less desperation because he won't initially remember the specific times he was left behind or passed over/rejected for someone else. He's also going to be marginally less venomous, at least in terms of actually following through on his nasty attitude--he's been an antagonistic little brat forever, but without the backing of an actual overpowered demon, he has less edge and will have to stand up for himself. He'll know he's lacking a support system from the cocoon dream, but not that it was made up of demons - just that he had something he now has to compensate for. Will he be any good at regaining his self-sufficiency... maybe... Time will tell.
He'll also be less driven to ruin lives because he can't remember any of his goals, but he'll gravitate toward finding a new "purpose" eventually.
Powers: None! He has a demon contract but it doesn't give him any sweet bonuses/it doesn't even show up unless said demon is around, so it's a nonissue.

CHARACTER INFORMATION
True name: Charles Fei-Ong
Given name: Lazare: French form of Latin Lazarus, meaning "my God has helped." This ties in with his perpetual belief that he's been scorned by God, unlike "God's favorite", Solomon. It also encompasses the myth of Lazarus, who was brought back to life by Christ after growing sick and dying (a parallel to how Charles was chosen for immortality by Diva, who is for all intents and purposes the god of his world.) While it will initially be a sore reminder of his losses, it's meant to tie into his cocoon dream's primary point: that he wasn't abandoned as he thought, but rather that he just hadn't seen or accepted the extended helping hand that was offered.

IN CANON
Take just one step into the ostentatious main office at Okinawa’s military base, and the kind of person it belongs to is obvious. It's in use by a high-ranking commander or an established politician, no doubt; some grand figure of authority with a refined taste to match their reputation. Then the office chair at the center of the room swivels around and... nope. It's just some little kid.
Though jarring, this is the way Charles most enjoys greeting people. With the reputation of a monster and a tendency to come off as an arrogant, entitled aristocrat, his child-like appearance stands in stark contrast to his personality. He's seen bossing around the scientist in charge of his care (and pretty much everyone else, no matter their rank or title), and gives off the impression that he thinks everyone should be grateful just to stand in the same room. He brushes people aside easily and mocks the genuine effort of others if it isn't up to his standards, being unimpressed at best and rude at worst. And this is when he's in a good mood.
Not many people are privy to his bad ones, but his first debut against Saya is a good example of it, as it also reveals an inhuman bloodlust and alarming lack of mental stability. He interrupts her soliloquy during a new rendition of Hamlet and proceeds to brutally maim her while quoting Ophelia's lines from the original play. While he's quick to use his physical prowess normally (cutting off Solomon's hand, slapping Van when he's angered), he goes almost theatrically overboard if Saya enters the scene. His manner of speech changes as well, maintaining its basic refined elements but becoming sprinkled with a colorful variety of cursing and vulgarity. These are the moments when his worst traits are on display; he definitely puts no effort in pretending he's one of the good guys, too focused on finishing his Vietnam war to care about much else.
Despite the displays of brutality, Charles is still very much a child emotionally speaking. Though he's been around for roughly a century and is intelligent and well-read, he is still a dependent person and socially awkward, especially around others his own age (the most notable example being Riku, the captive he eventually became friends-or-something-like-it with). When in these situations, he's easily flustered or embarrassed, feigning bossiness or finding other ways of asserting his supposed superiority in order to make the situation more familiar and comfortable. It's in these situations that he shows his truest self: a boy with a passion for literature and fine arts, a desire for companionship, and an irrational fear of moths. Uncertain and overcompensating, he deals with foreign things like affection and acceptance in the only way he knows - awkward, indignant denial or mildly offended grumbling. Negatively, these actions could be seen as lighter aspects of a less savory part of Charles' personality.
Though he pretends to be fine on his own and feels awkward when put in situations where he isn't, Charles has a very large dependency complex; most notably in regard to Van Argiano. Again, he tries to maintain a façade of superiority, as he would genuinely like to believe himself in control of as many aspects in his life as possible since they've been stripped from him with increasing regularity. But he can become alarmingly attached to the people who manage to get past this, to the point where it can accurately be described as an obsession. At one point, he becomes so frantic at the prospect of Van betraying him that he rips his own heart out and has an emotional breakdown, only snapping out of it when Van threatens to leave if the behavior continues. The extra intensity of this display might be in part because he can't stand the other chevaliers and, despite being accused of longing to become one again, no longer considers himself a true part of the group. Thus, if Van sides with them in one thing, he isn't on Charles' side; it’s a very "you're either with me or against me" sort of mentality. In addition to the emotional dependency, he is also physically dependent on others to some extent because of his missing arm. For one example, he can forehead-flick another chevalier through a brick wall, but can't tie his own ribbons. That isn't to say he can't manage on his own, of course, but he is very quick to call on Van for help with those smaller things, and some larger as well, such as the time his legs were healing and he couldn't walk without more blood.
Beyond the cruel mask and socially awkward behavior, there's a final and extremely well-hidden layer. It's here that one can find the emotions driving him to keep his home filled with blue roses despite claiming he has no ties to his past, and the part of himself that hates his own hopefulness and accepts his fate as a test subject that is neither human nor chevalier. Despite his intense fear of being betrayed by the few people he has left, Charles has already been dealt such a poor hand that he has come to expect it and views betrayal as something that is inevitable and a part of life. The frantic reactions he has in response to the possibility of someone leaving his side could be his way of attempting to simply prolong their stay, hopeful in spite of his conscious acknowledgment that everything good eventually ends. This aspect of his personality comes out the strongest towards the very end of his canon appearances when Van shows up with a gun. Though he looks crushed, he only says; 'You always were a perfectionist, weren't you', and makes no move to defend himself. It's this side of him that has already acknowledged death and feels it's time to take his exit, allowing him to accept Saya's poisonous blood with some sense of closure.
IN-GAME
In short, a Charles with no memories of the hard life he's gone through is a Charles that is much less bitter, sadistic or unstable. Those core negative traits are still a part of his person and will likely begin to resurface as he remembers more fragments, but his overall temperament will be like a milder, more sane version of his usual self.
Haibane Charles is basically comparable to post-Riku Charles (as opposed to first appearance Charles): while he once allowed his sadism and desire for revenge to dictate a majority of his actions and felt fine playing the part of the monster, he mellows out after realizing Riku doesn't fear him. Being introduced to a human that didn't view him as inhuman ignited a dormant spark of hope, softening his less pleasant personality traits and accentuating his more positive ones. This is essentially what will occur with memory loss. He'll allow his "human" emotions to show more freely and since he has no fixations to handle, he won't be obsessed with being viewed as an untouchable powerhouse. He'll tolerate spending free time doing mundane things with people much better and will be more open to the idea of true acceptance, rather than claiming it isn't something he needs. Reciprocating friendship will be easier for him as well, since the only roadblock he'll face will essentially be his own innate social awkwardness and tsundere-leaning tendencies rather than decades of trust issues. He'll be somewhat cautious and wary because of his cocoon dream, though.
Over all, he's still grumpy, sharp-tongued and quick to take offense. The same subjects and people still get on his nerves, and he's kind of unpleasant to be around in general because he's always complaining or insulting the people around him. However, his better mental standing will give him the more solid base that he'll need to start building up relationships, which will hopefully be the pillar of support that he lacked in canon when he needs to start coping with his memory returns.
Powers: Speed → Chevalier can move faster than the human eye can track, reminiscent of your typical flash-step.
Strength → Many times that of a human. The types of physical tasks Chiropterans are capable of include swinging around battleship anchors for sport and flicking full-grown men through cement walls.
Regeneration/Healing → Chiropteran regeneration covers almost everything, up to and including removal of vital organs, incendiary explosions, partial and potentially full decapitation and severe limb loss. Small cuts seal over almost instantly, and they're seen as capable of regrowing missing or damaged body parts (eyes, organs, etc). They also possess an immunity to natural and man-made poisons and illnesses.
Shapeshifting → By ingesting the blood of a human, chevalier are able to replicate the appearance and voice of that person. This doesn't extend to abilities, but appears to cover memory to some extent.
True Form → Chevalier possess a primal "true form" that resembles the lower level chiropterans, which enables them to be even stronger and faster. They can also shift individual limbs at will into this form without changing their entire body.
Aging → Chiropterans do not age and don't have a known lifespan; theoretically, they are immortal.
Senses → All five senses are finely-tuned. They can hear well enough to differentiate people by their heartbeats, smell blood from blocks away, see in the dark, and hear and speak on hypersonic frequencies.
Additionally, unlike the queens of the species, chevalier are unable to sleep.

CHARACTER INFORMATION
True name: Gazelle
Given name: A parody of riffraff (ironic since she doesn't see herself anything close to worthless or rubbish) and a bastardisation of the words raft and ant, both directly relating to Gazelle's dream and keeping close to the animal theme. While a gazelle is also a group animal, Gazelle is named that because she has "complete control of her legs". The ant has significantly less control of itself in that regard, relating to the helplessness of the situation and her need to act in a group. She needs to keep herself afloat and not drown to the desire to dive back into blood.
Canon: Kingsman: The Secret Service
Canonpoint: From her deathpoint, where she is poisoned by Eggsy's shoeblade
History: http://villains.wikia.com/wiki/Gazelle_(Kingsman:_The_Secret_Service)
Personality: Canon:
Valentine: "Is he dead?"
Gazelle: "That tends to happen when you shoot someone in the head."
Gazelle can stand alone, but for a full appreciation and understanding of her character and role in the film, she needs to be talked about next to Valentine, the rich, psychopathic manchild who is bent on culling the human population for the environment's sake and humanity's survival. If Valentine is the gentle, compassionate, brains of the operation, Gazelle is the cold-hearted guts and balls of it. She is a proud, bloodthirsty second-in-command who really loves her work as a killer, even asking her boss to affirm how good killing someone really is at one point. She's a confident woman, who believes she has a purpose in life.
While Valentine, the main big-bad, is squeamish when it comes to blood and guts, Gazelle embraces gore with open arms. Her entrance to the movie in the first scene is to split a secret agent that had just defeated several armed mooks with a single kick, slicing him in half from the head down. Though on the surface she is very calm, relaxed and easygoing, albeit a little sarcastic, she's a beast when it comes to combat. She is a competent assistant who had her lower legs amputated and replaced with blades, and uses them fully to her advantage.
Gazelle is a graceful, cunning killer who can dodge bullets and kill small armies of men without breaking a sweat. Her hip-hop fighting style matches her light-footed, flexible yet serious demeanour, emphasising her powerful, prosthetic legs which are ridiculously sharply-bladed. Using breakdancing moves, she fights as if she was using swords, and can split a man in half in a single strike. We can see that she is a planner, and she calculates her moves to kill people with a deadly efficency.
She does love violence whether by watching it (Shown when Gazelle was watching Galahad during the church massacre, even encouraging Valentine to watch some of Galahad's kills) or being violent herself. However, curiously, the only time she is shown angry in the movie is during combat. It can be inferred that she despises slow kills, or people she can't kill. This is shown particularly in the final fight against her, where she gets frustrated (the only time in the movie) that she can't kill the protagonist, Eggsy. This is the first time she fails at killing someone she set out to kill. She shows her fascination and love for the macabre only after the deed is done. In the middle of the fight, people are no more than obstacles, tiny and insignificant like bugs in Valentine's way, and she's very ready to take their heads off regardless of who they are without a second thought.
Outside her fascination with carnage and being a double amputee killer, Gazelle is known for her loyalty and genuine friendship with her boss despite their differences. Even from her first scene she has shown to be very intelligent and self-thinking despite her devotion, and is seen questioning the authority, logic and ideas of her boss, though accepting them for who he is. She doesn't hide who she is, but she accepts the world around her, which includes her boss. She completely devoted to Valentine she will risk her life for his safety.
That's not to say that she's just a killer full time. She has a strangely sweet side to her when around Valentine, sharing a hug after having dinner with Galahad and smirking at his buttpat when he tells her to go upstairs to bed. She's shown to be capable of compassion, comforting Valentine after he shoots Galahad because she knows he hates violence (even though she does try to convince him that killing was great, it's rather sweet anyway). She also cradles Valentine's face in her hands for a brief second before going off to fight Eggsy, trying to reassure him that she'd take care of things. She literally throws her body onto him when Eggsy shoots at them, and then throws herself at Eggsy to fight and protect Valentine during the climax of the movie.
Gazelle only truly cares about Valentine and is fiercely protective of him, doing his bidding without hesitation. Likewise, Valentine recognises Gazelle's importance to his plans and life and cares for her too, mourning her death when she's poisoned by Eggsy's blade.
In game:
Unfortunately, in the movie we aren't able to see any of Gazelle's backstory and how she met Valentine and why she's so willing to kill most of the world's population. We can't even make assumptions from the comic the movie is loosely based of, mostly because MI6 is removed entirely from the movie and Gazelle is not a huge black man. So, in game she will be mostly portrayed as she is in the movie. She will feel extremely lonely without a person to look up to and stand by her side and she will be searching for a 'Valentine'. She will still be as sarcastic as ever, and she will still be very much the focused individual she always has been. She'll just be missing the bloodlust she is usually seen with, though she may be more eager to start a fight in place of it. For most part, she'll be just Gazelle without the killing. Maybe with CR, she'll change for the better and play more on her kind side, or she'll be the dedicated villain she was rewritten to be.
Powers: Superhuman Strength and Agility, Blade-Equipped Bionic Legs, incredibly skilled martial-artist, inhuman dexterity, superb athleticism. I'm fine regardless if the bionic legs are included with her haibane transformation, replaced with human legs or removed all together and she has only up to her knees to survive.
Memory bank:Over here!
Job: Restaurant hostess.
Dream:
[Gazelle is in a city, by herself, on the top of a skyscraper, a big, beating heart next to her. She's not sure where she is, but she feels comfortable where she is, high above the squirming insects that are below her feet. Occasionally she steps on them. Occasionally she laughs.
Then one ant pinches the heart next to her.
Gazelle screams as blood gushes out from the tiny prick, spilling onto the city below. The ants seem to grow, nourished by the blood, but she begins to step on them again and again, more desperate and frantic. But the more she steps, the more blood there is, and suddenly her laughter becomes cries for help as the blood raises up higher, all the way up to her chin.
The ants that are still growing become bigger too, and for some reason, a bunch of them come together and hold themselves as a raft. Gazelle climbs on and the ants swim through the ocean, now swamping the city entirely and leading her out to sea. The final realisation that Gazelle has before she wakes up is that the longer she rides on the ant raft, the easier it is to see that she's turning into an ant as well.
And she is eager for the full transformation.]
Trial: Gazelle's dying thoughts and regrets are that she failed to kill Eggsy and didn't live to see Valentine achieve his goal (if he achieved it at all). However, since she can't actually go around slaughtering everyone, her development will be drawing her away from her fascination and love for murder and focusing more on that kind side she only showed to Valentine. The plan in the movie was to kill all humans except a select few, so Gazelle will need to learn to open her heart and start accepting people, and more than just one person, even people she doesn't see eye to eye with. She has a heart and she acknowledges it, she just has to do something with it.
I hope for it to have some up and downs, not to the point where she's killing left right and centre like the movie, but where she gets into fights and purposely picks them for the thrill. I'm hoping Gazelle comes to terms with the fact that people have lives, and aren't just objects in the pathway of a goal either. So most of her trial will involve making friends and recognising that her actions are more than just wrong, she's supposed to be remorseful for it.

Memories:
1. [She knew that this wasn't her house, but she knew that it was a house she was welcomed in. Why she knew this was unknown to her. After all, since when was she ever welcome in a house so isolated from the rest, surrounded by so much snow that it piled against the windows threatening to push the house off the cliff it rested on. She wasn't sure why she knew there was a cliff when she couldn't see it, but she accepted it, as if it was a fact as simple as the sun rose in the mornings. There were yells from the next room, but Gazelle felt eerily calm, even though any sane person would be cowering at the loud shots from the next room.
Balancing on what felt like heels the size of her head, Gazelle calmly walks into the next room where she sees a man in a chair and a man standing up, holding a glass. Apple juice? Alcohol? She wasn't sure what it was, but something tells her to go get it off him. There's someone who would want it more.
Who would want it more? The man in the chair? No... that doesn't seem right.
There were five men in the room before, but she's not sure what gave her that impression. On the ground there were five 'lumps' but no people. Maybe just corpses.
She finds herself smiling. Whether or not it's from the dream or her actual self, she's not sure, but she finds herself smiling.
There's a knock on the door and instantly the man who has the glass she wants looks to it. But she doesn't- even though she's curious- her eyes stay trained on the man and his glass. What's so interesting about him?
...Nothing
She realises there's nothing interesting about him. He can just get out of the way.
So she makes him move. She stands right in front of him (but shouldn't heels be noisier than this?) and begins to move. As if she was stretching her leg for dancing, she raises her leg, making a 180 degree angle with her limbs.
And she slams her leg down.
Down it goes. She doesn't feel like she's done anything, but there's a burst of euphoria as she brings her silvery legs down on him. She knows she did something right. The man is suddenly still and she takes his glass before he just... falls apart in front of her.
She would scream, if it was reality, but everything seems ghostly and distant, and nothing feels wrong. In fact, she feels like she achieved something. The drink? Or someone else's approval?
She can't see the man in the chair's face, but she can tell he's terrified. Of what? Her? Oh well, she doesn't care. She knows she has to move and start putting white sheets on the corpses. The knocking outside continues... she has to clean everything up answer the door.
...
She has the feeling someone very important is on the other side.]
----
2. [Dancing was everything to her. It always has been, it always will be. Gazelle has long accepted that as part of her life, and when she starts doing the splits and waving her hair around, she knows there's nothing she'd rather do. She would always dance, for as long as she lived.
But that's a lie, isn't it? Because she's ripping apart colourful posters of famous people she feels she should know but shouldn't. The frozen smears of colour make her think dancers, even though nothing she can see would confirm that. She feels no real hatred for people... just frustration. Complete and utter frustration.
Gazelle looks down and is shocked to find her legs are gone. She's alone in a bed on a rough, blue bedspread, with nothing below the knees. Again, the scream rises in her throat, but there's no sound. Only hate and snarls as she aggressively throws the poster in the trash.
Upset... that people have legs and she doesn't?
It's her, yet Gazelle finds the child's (child? It's her, right? And she doesn't age...) reasoning stupid. Why was she so upset? Why was it all pain?
Pain...
Was she like this because of pain? Isolated and trapped from the outside world because she couldn't feel anything besides the agony that came with medicine wearing off. This... this was supposed to be a hospital but everything felt too clean and sterile and she didn't recognise the equipment plugged into her.
What was wrong? What was wrong?
Why is she so angry? Why does she feel like the world has betrayed her? What did... what did global warming have to do with her losing her legs?
Why did it take dancing away from her?]
RP sample:
[Even after a month of being 'born' and getting used to things, Gazelle still feels like she's out of place somehow. It makes sense (she is young after all) but still it feels odd for her. Gazelle moves with confidence, a smile on her face as she passes the few customers she had today, but she still feels like something is inherently wrong. Something that is missing.
Or perhaps it is the lack of something missing that bothers her.
As she puts her tray back on the counter, waiting for the chef to pile the food back up and give her the order number, she smooths her hands down her legs, long and willowy, her skin soft to the touch.
There's something that she hates about her legs, but she never quite figured out where the insecurity (if it could even be called that) came from. Even though her calves are perfect, her foot-size easy to find shoes for, her thighs a lovely size, she loathes her legs more than anything else. She feels weak. Why does she feel weak? She had plenty of rest the night before.
When food is slammed on the plate, she heads off to the next table, smiling wryly when she sees its not a human. At least she feels better whenever she doesn't have to talk to 'people'.]
I know I made you wasted your 'valuable time' but here I am... and here's your order. You need another drink with that?

Valkenhayn is unerringly polite and courteous in his old age, the model of a gentlemanly butler. He prizes good manners and iron composure; he's dismayed to slip into the occasional outburst of temper when talking about someone he hates with a passion, even if what they've done and continue to do mean that nobody would blame him for it. He judges others by this same measure; though he's always polite and helpful, he tends to remark on it when he feels that others don't meet his same standard of elegance.
His distaste is somewhat linked to his actions in his youth; as one of the Immortal Breakers, a vigilante assigned to hunt down immortals who would cause trouble, he impatiently sought battle and stronger foes to pit his might against. Though his volcanic temper and palpable impatience has been balanced out by refinement and gentling, it's never gone away - it only bares its fangs at need, much like Valkenhayn himself. And he has gentled; he treats those who aren't enemies with refinement and those who are young with kindness, a far cry from his Breaker days.
Despite being one of the legendary heroes that fought the Black Beast and thus a living legend, Valkenhayn eschews any prestige that such a title bestows upon him and is content to live a simple life at the beck and call of his mistress, Rachel Alucard - current head of the Alucard clan and daughter of his rival. Though he is her butler and technical servant, he also takes care of her in the manner of a parent caring for their child; he is extremely (and at times, over) protective of her despite her immense power, to the point that he may intervene when it isn't necessary in order to try and protect her even though she's capable of handling herself.
Having existed outside of the continuous time loop of the universe that is Blazblue's main timeline for some time, it's given him somewhat of a separation from the world. Though he serves some of the same roles as his mistress does, encouraging and pushing others at need (and always at Rachel's request), being kind and helpful when he can, he seems to hold aloof and detached from it; only when those from the world itself come knocking at the door of the Alucards' realm is he really stirred to individual action.
He seems mostly content not to bother the world in its movement until some drastic action requires his attention, a trait picked up from his masters, Observers who gain their power from not meddling in the world until they must.
IN HAIBANE
Valkenhayn will stay mostly the same; generally helpful and generally quite passive until roused (at least, passive at first). The main change between his life and his death is that he lacks the memories of both old alliances and old regrets, and the perspective that holds him separate from other mortals.
He'll become more proactive on an individual level since he lacks those memories to hold himself separate from those around him, and be instinctively drawn to taking care of those younger than him in order to fill that gap left by lost memories. His parental instinct is strong, and so he's likely to gather those in need more often than not. His gentler, kinder side is more likely to show itself, since the memories that make him more aloof and concerned with propriety are things he's forgotten.
On the other hand, he's also more outspoken and less composed (and therefore more temperamental) due to the loss of his memories, but generally he leans towards just being intimidating rather than actually hurting people (unless they attack him first).

Memory bank: here!
Job: General field work
Dream:
He's walking in a rose garden under the moonlight; though he's careful not to step on the flowers, somehow they seem to always get in his way.
No matter how careful he is, no matter how softly he steps -- white roses burst under his feet and from his careless motions. They scatter with the suddenly rising wind; the sickly-sweet smell of decay chokes the air. Everywhere he looks, roses are dying, and their stems are not the normal thorns of roses, but the tangled, dead growths of ivy. At their roots, they're being eaten away by darkness.
He has to clean it up. He doesn't know why, but the compulsion to do so grips him and doesn't let go; he has no tools, so he tears at the plants with his bare hands. The thorns bite into his flesh; the rot stings his bloody fingers. There is no end to the task.
He's aware, distantly, that there are howls in the darkness, searching for him; he feels a faint warmth from them. But he doesn't answer. He has to finish this; he has to weed out the source of this pollution, this darkness, himself. He can't fail. He can't fail--
It is so cold, here. The cold stings his wounds.
The moon, high above, illuminating him and the dying garden; it makes his arduous task visible. Though he can't seem to look up again, too busy tearing rotting thorns from the earth with no end, the light that strikes the plants changes colour with a sudden ripple, a wrongness in the world.
The crumbling flowers, shedding petals like a storm, are painted a bloody red. And that is the tableau; him kneeling, arms wrapped in thorns, cut raw, in a field of dying roses and rising darkness--
Trial:
Valkenhayn's trial will be about learning to accept his own limitations more fully, learning to forgive himself and finally letting go of past regrets; the things he can no longer change. He needs to learn what it is to exist in the world again, besides others, and reach out to them.
Acceptance of his limits and learning what it is to exist in a world where time runs normally will be pushed forward as he opens up and interacts with others; his own pride and difficulty in asking for help when he was able to do everything himself, the lone wolf mentality, will usually be the barrier he has to overcome in completing tasks. His mental insistence on composure and always being seen as strong will be another significant barrier in opening up to others and bonding with them.
Letting go of his past regrets will come more easily as he passes time in the town; just being in Glie will soothe him, as it has a markedly different atmosphere to the stressful environment he was in in his life.
He will still worry about his own memories when he regains them, being frustrated at the fact that he cannot remember exactly who he was or who was so important to him in life, and much like accepting his limits, his stubbornness in trying to face his own problems by himself and not talk about them to anyone will be his main block. In the end, though, he will eventually have to give up the idea of regaining them fully, and learn that letting go of something that was important is a loss that he will have to live with.

CHARACTER INFORMATION
True name: Trip
Given name: Shoot
Canon: Pokemon Best Wishes!
Canonpoint: Best Wishes! Season 2, after the Unova league
History: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Trip
Personality: Trip is, at a glance, a quiet, level-headed Pokemon trainer, proud and prone to arrogance and snide remarks ("That's basic" seems to be his favourite way to end a mocking lecture), but eager to learn, desperate for acknowledgement, and quite inquisitive, endlessly searching for an answer to the nature of true strength and how to obtain it. He has a difficult-to-pin-down personality, experimental to the point it makes his true nature hard to grasp, often saying one thing and then doing something counter to it. He dresses in line with New York street fashion and is very much into photography, often found taking pictures to record his journey, but carries himself with a great deal of seriousness in battle and almost military pragmatism.
He is a soft contrast to Ash, not as stark as the rival who preceded him in the way that constantly sent them clashing with each other, so Trip's personality lends more easily to friendship and mutual understanding. Still, in the beginning, they were set apart quite distinctly: Trip is from Unova, the Pokemon world's New York, Ash is from Kanto (equivalent to the realworld Kanto region of Japan). Trip's refined (bordering on feminine) way of speaking is a quite polite and distinctly upper-class in clear contrast to Ash's somewhat accented, ruder-sounding, rural air. Now, despite the differences in speech patterns, their actual behaviour towards each other opposes their language: Ash is much more polite, while Trip is polite and respectful to adults and authority figures except at the height of his arrogance (where he demanded that the old Champion of his region kneel before him...), he is frequently insulting and condescending towards his rival. Trip is reserved and not very sociable, Ash is friendly and outgoing. Ash's over-excitement over being in a new region far from home made for a terrible first impression, as he made rookie mistakes in front of then-beginning trainer Trip, and Pikachu was suffering from a Legendary-born thunderstorm which rendered it incapable of using Electric attacks for a time. So, Trip mocked Ash for his mistakes, despite being initially impressed by seeing a foreign Pokemon, and proceeded to make jabs at Ash's town, calling it the boonies and wondering if that's the way everyone behaved in Kanto.
He is shown be a very inconsistent person in terms of behaviour. It is hard to anticipate what he might do or say in a certain situation because he is very taciturn and does things that seem counter to his nature entirely on a whim (he disrespects Ash early on and looks down on him for losing to him on Trip's first day of his journey
regardless of the Legendary interference that led to Ash's Pikachu temporarily being unable to use Electric Attacks because Trip didn't see that happen, but he also decides to imitate Ash's battling style in their third battle and makes it very clear to him that he's trying it out!).The boy acts like an insufferable know-it-all and can be very condescending, but he's not above learning from someone he seems to look down on, and just in general, he'll say one thing and do another. Very inconsistent, very difficult-to-pin-down, because he's not sure what he's going to do yet and has only been on his journey for a relatively short while and, more importantly, is still developing his own personality too. All he's really going off of is (possibly grossly misunderstood) childhood advice to seek strength and grow up quickly. He tries to act like he knows more than he really does, more confident and sure of himself than he really is, but he knows he needs to grow and change, so he's not shy about adapting his style and learning new things, as long as he's convinced they won't interfere with his personal growth (... unfortunately, friendship and building trust seems to be something he filed away as an impediment for a long time), otherwise, he wouldn't have been carrying that camera around to record his journey. And he does recognize it as a journey on which he should grow and change and normally, although he's very confident, he doesn't think he has nothing left to learn from anyone else except for when his arrogance reached its peak just before his crushing defeat.
Trip fears inadequacy, weakness, falling short of expectations (his own or others). As an extension of the former, laying his true feelings bare and any other form of emotional vulnerability would likely unsettle him deeply. Expressing affection is not exactly something he fears, so much as something that he is not very comfortable with although he is making an effort to overcome it for the sake of others, it can render him unusually timid. His social skills are somewhat lacking due to his inwardly-focused personality and fixation on gaining strength; his recognition of boundaries is weak, althoug he is more likely to err on the side of caution now. His icy pragmatism makes him seem quite ruthless. Cynical, will commit cruel acts if he believes there's no other way to resolve matters, but in truth, he does not make too much of an effort to find gentler means owing to said cynicism. When engaged on a subject he's passionate about (namely Alder), he reverts to very childish behaviour, so if any argument occurs, there'll be pushing, shoving, and shouting; he'll seem like an entirely different person!
He doesn't take pictures just to remember experiences and places or the way he felt about them, but also to learn from; as he used pictures to help Ash find out what was preventing Oshawott from successfully performing an attack.
A Trainer's choice of Pokemon speaks volumes about their character, particularly in this universe where they are living, breathing companions who tightly bond with their trainers and can adapt and grow to succeed even where game mechanics would ensure failure out of sheer dedication and determination. So Pokemon teams are decided by choice, rather than necessity alone. It's said that Pokemon grow to resemble their trainers, but the reverse can also be true. Trip seems to favour Pokemon that convey a similarly proud, even regal air (his starter Pokemon, Snivy, is called Serperior in his final form and he is literally a smug snake) and his Tranquill is male, marked by showy feathers which they love to flaunt; this fits in well both with Trip's love of putting on airs, proud personality, and fashion sense. Ash also trains a Snivy and a Tranquill of his own, although his is the more plainly coloured female and his Snivy never chooses to evolve. This marks the two as rivals and counterparts of a sort very early on and Trip's Serperior and Ash's Snivy have their own rivalry apart from their trainers' (particularly on, when Trip is wholly uninterested in battling Ash). Trip trains a pampered, babyish little Vanillite, possibly in imitation of and tribute to his childhood hero Alder who trains a Vanilluxe, its evolved form. Trip rarely ever uses it in battle and coddles it somewhat; it's unevolved for as far as we know and has never been in any of the tournaments or major battles he's taken part of, likely due to either its apparent inexperience, sensitivity (although that seems to be more Trip getting offended on its behalf than Vanillite really finding Iris' comments about Ice Types offensive...), and link to his childhood memories of Alder.
As for the many contradictions involved with Vanillite and his attitude towards it, it's worth remembering that just as older Alder focuses on living in the moment, Trip is very much focused on the past. He cherishes it and dwells on it in memories and photographs. Trip is a very sentimental person despite his harsh coldness in battle and Vanillite, being the pre-evolutionary form of one of Alder's Pokemon, in addition to its appearance (a babyish creature that resembles confectionary), all tie it quite strongly to feelings of childhood and it elicits more of an uncharacteristically emotionally-driven, but also protective response from Trip. His reasons for giving it such a treatment are based in his own childhood, while he rejects the "child" label now, wanting to be seen as an adult, he also places himself in an almost parental role for it and sees Vanillite as something to be protected. He recognizes childhood and childhood memories as something precious, not just his own or other humans', but also a Pokemon's, because he is also protective of its own feelings. If it were only about his own memories, it wouldn't make a difference to him if someone said something insensitive to Vanillite. But it did. This sort of response means a lot coming from someone who normally sees emotional responses as foolish and something to be avoided because they cloud judgement.
[2/?]
A Conkeldurr is his strongman, possibly to make up for Trip's more speed-based partner Serperior. This one honestly doesn't seem to fit any category, it seems to be here strictly for tactical reasons, to make his team more well-balanced in terms of Type and strength. He does rely on it quite heavily in tournaments and other major battles.
Finally, the rest of his team consist of Ghost Types and rather sinister ones at that: another regal Pokemon in Frillish, a blue, jellyfish like Pokemon that resembles a fairytale prince with frills and a crown-like tuft (to fit in with the rest of his regal and proud Pokemon) known to engulf its prey and paralyze them with poison, before dragging them miles underwater to drown them, while Lampent, an oil lamp-like Pokemon (it also wears a crown in its evolved form, so another regal type) known to consume the souls of the deceased to fuel its fire, often appearing before those who are near death. Roams hospitals and graveyards.
The more sinister Pokemon (Frillish and Lampent) also suit Trip's change in demeanour in battle and his malicious battling style. While he's normally calm and polite even while battling (provided the battle isn't emotionally charged like the one against Alder), when excited, he does seem to enjoy taking down his opponent in extremely harsh or even cruel ways. And he smirks while doing it too. Although he cares for his own Pokemon, he has a very vicious battling style, and the Venipede incident also shows that he does not care what happens to wild Pokemon who pose a threat to him or other humans. He absolutely won't kill or intentionally cause serious injury to a trained Pokemon (he's not heartless, he's a legitimate trainer), he respects that trained Pokemon are important to their Trainers and it's not the same as wild Pokemon who are attacking humans like the Venipede, but he has no qualms about using tactics that will bring a Pokemon to the brink of death because he takes his battles as deathly seriously as he takes himself and his pride relies on being seen as strong and capable, which is why his earlier losses affected him so badly. Trip is much more ruthless in battle than he is outside of it, as he seems to reserve his kindness for certain Pokemon (it might tie into his sense of pride as putting those he cares about above others of their own kind and/or his pragmatic nature as well, because it would not benefit him to care about something that would not benefit him, cold as it is) and in certain, non-battle situations. His kindness to people is less restricted, as he feels it's also only "basic" that humans would protect and help one another (it sounds unusually idealistic for Trip until you put it into context that he's using it to justify burning a common, non-human enemy: the Venipede). He is quite cold, but very rational, more logic-driven than emotion-driven and weighs his options out based on what brings more benefit rather than being tied down by vaguely-defined feelings and motives like Ash's compassion (pfft, what?). (Except when it comes to Vanillite because it's his baby and shush, don't hurt its feelings!). Yes, it's very arrogant and self-centered thinking, but with a combination of pride, introversion, and inward-focus, it's also to be expected. He's very much focused on himself, his Pokemon, and how they come across, so that's where he puts most of his care. He isn't flooding with affection for all living creatures like some people...
His final League battle with Ash, when they're already mutually friendly? He has his Serperior wrap its tail around Pikachu's neck and suffocate him until he loses consciousness before ordering for Pikachu to be slammed into the battlefield. Serperior, ever obedient, does all of this without hesitation, accustomed to its trainer's style. So even his non-Ghost Type Pokemon show streaks of cruelty in their battling styles, rather than just Trip's favoured Ghost Types who have this penchant for childish cruelty as part of their very natures, and Trip mirrors in battle.
Just as in the Venipede incident, it shows he has a very ends-justifies-the-means approach to battles and isn't afraid to go further than most. So while the vast majority of trainers would absolutely not go to such lengths, it's still technically an acceptable battling style. Ash's Pikachu has been in worse fixes in standard battles before too (Pika and Goliath, Pikachu battles a Raichu, winds up hospitalized with a dropping pulse and heart rate). This was during the league and no one stops him or raises any objection, so it's technically acceptable even if it did cause Ash and friends to worry.
A more general example that simultaneously displays his icy pragmatism which puts him at odds with Ash as well as his innate kindness is when Castelia City is found in a state of total chaos and panic with hordes of Venipede rampaged through it, overturning trucks and cars, sending the elderly crowd-surfing (against their will!), crawling all over buildings, basically, turning everything the whole city into a insect-ridden, nightmarish mess. Trip, who had been recruited by Gym Leader Burgh when he found him passing through, lead an assault on the Pokemon using both his Pokemon and commanding a group of young trainers, calling out "FIRE!" to synchronize an attack.
Where Ash favours trying to find a peaceful resolution that would suit both sides and spare the Venipede, Trip sees violence as the only solution. Ash's suggestions prompts an incredulous expression from Trip, who reminds him this isn't his rural home region and things are conducted differently here. In a struggle between Pokemon and humans, it's only basic for humans to side with one another; this was his firmly-held opinion. Not only did he not care if his method led to the Venipede's demise, but he was also utilizing his Lampent here.
... and, when compared to a Lampent who had yet to feed, its fire was quite large when Ash and friends arrived...
But after Ash convinces the Mayor to allow them to try to reign in the leader and figure out why the Venipede are swarming here, while Trip crosses his arms and acts as if he's ignoring the conversation (even the Mayor reminds them that if they don't get to the bottom of things, the city will be forced to take drastic measures against the Venipede), he looks intrigued after Ash and company leave, because they mentioned seeking out the leader of the Venipede. Trip seemed curious and even impressed with the idea, as he's always interested in a challenge and seeking out the strongest opponents, though he didn't show this to his rival.
When Ash and friends locate the leader, Trip cuts in and begins attacking it, against their wishes, concluding that if the leader were taken down, the whole swarm will go down, but the attack is blocked by Ash himself, an action that confuses Trip, who cannot understand why a human would take a blow for a Pokemon and a wild one at that. Ash and friends try to explain to Trip that Venipede aren't naturally aggressive, until he agrees not to interfere, recalling his Lampent...
However, despite this agreement, when he rounds a corner and sees Ash's Pidove about to be attacked by one of the Venipede, he sends his own Tranquill to save her! This makes Ash smile, but Trip pointedly avoids his gaze.
His actions in Castelia City prove that Trip, despite being cold in temperament and distant by nature, has a strong desire to help others, although he lacks Ash's recklessness and idealism, preferring to assist in calm and rational ways, sometimes to a fault, as he saw protecting Pokemon as irrational atthat point in time. Still, it also displays his willingness to learn from his mistakes and from Ash, despite how much he mocks him for his home (initially... these nasty remarks taper off rather quickly after a humbling defeat later on), he recognizes Ash's skill once it's proven and even attempts to emulate his instinctive, unplanned, and unrestricted-by-Type-disadvantages battling style quite early on, while still in his haughty stage— he also immediately realizes it's not for him and returns to his pre-planned, strategic style.
His driving force is a meeting in his early childhood, with the Champion of the Unova region, Alder, when Trip was still bright-eyed and cheerful without a frown in sight. He met Alder in a festival, was given the privilege of touching and even feeding Alder's Buffron. Eagerly, he asked Alder what the most important thing in a Pokemon battle is. Alder's answer, delivered with a pat on the boy's head, was strength. "Grow up quickly and defeat me."
"So it is all about strength!"
... oh, Alder.
The details of what, exactly, transpired between then and now to make Trip the way he is now are never given, but what's clear is that the experience inspired him and he took those words to heart in ways Alder likely never intended... or were built on principles Alder had abandoned himself with age. Trip certainly grew up quickly, relying much more on calculated actions and avoiding the sentimentality of his peers; he also grew to be someone who deeply values strength to the extent that his relationship with his Pokemon suffer somewhat for it. He certainly isn't abusive or neglectful as some trainers, he speaks to his Pokemon quite respectfully, but there is a distance wedged between them so that he is not as in tune with his Pokemon's feelings as any good trainer should be. Nonetheless, his Pokemon, namely his starter Serperior, love him.
Trip is so consumed by following Alder's advice to the letter that he doesn't permit anything not directly conductive to becoming stronger get in his way. His obsession with maturity is such that he takes being called a "child" an insult to his pride and would do anything to prove his maturity; a very childish attitude in and of itself, not that he can recognize it as such. It does make easy to convince him to do things he otherwise wouldn't, though!
