Rules
While we all come from different backgrounds and have different opinions, it is important to be respectful of each other. We expect all players to show others respect, and to handle any disagreements with care. If there are any problems that cannot be handled by players alone, please approach a mod for help. We will gladly step in to help wherever we are needed, but that need must be brought to our attention via the mod contact post first. All players are expected to participate in a monthly activity check. Failing this activity check could result in removal from the game. More information about AC can be found here at the AC FAQ. While characters can be younger, all players must be 16 or older. Only players who are over the age of 18 can participate in threads with adult content. All questionable content must be warned for and, if in a top post, must be put behind a cut. The main focus of this game is character development, and characters will change over time. That said, they should still be recognizable as the characters they are. Keep your characters IC, and be sure to post to the monthly AC post. Because of the focus on character development, IC actions will yield IC consequences, both positive and negative in nature. Players are expected to follow through on the consequences for whatever actions their characters take. Avoiding consequences for IC actions can be grounds for a strike, depending on the situation. Players will be privy to a lot of information about the setting long before the characters find it out. Blocks of text in this font and color right here are known OOCly to players, but not yet ICly to characters. Information in this font and color right here was previously not known ICly, but has since been revealed to the characters, so long as their character has an IC reason for knowing that information (IE they were present when the information was revealed, or someone who knows it has talked to them about it). Referencing any 'blue text' information ICly can result in a strike. Referencing any 'green text' information ICly when your character does not have the means to know it can result in a warning. (As a note, if anyone is colorblind and is having trouble seeing the difference between the 'blue text' and 'green text', please let us know.) Depending upon the severity of the incident, rule-breaking will result in either a warning, a strike, or a ban. Warning - You can have one warning at any given time. Warnings go away after six months. If you currently have a warning and break another rule, regardless of severity, the punishment will automatically be a strike. Strike - You can have up to two strikes at any given time. Strikes do not go away. Depending on the severity of the offense, strikes can be given automatically, even if the player does not currently have a warning. Ban - If a player receives three strikes, they are permanently banned from the game. Depending on the severity of the offense, bans can be given automatically, even if the player does not currently have any warnings or strikes. |
